About Tim Sharpe

I am interested in biophysics and protein chemistry, most particularly the application of biophysical methods to interesting problems in biology and medicine. My first research was in experimental protein folding, a fascinating area of fundamental biochemistry that demands a multi-disciplinary high-technology approach. More recently I have pursued research with more immediate medical relevance, working on protein chemistry and assay development in an academic drug discovery programme. In my current job, I work with, advise and train scientists who study a very wide range of topics from cell biology to polymer chemistry and drug discovery. I am always interested to learn about and apply new technologies in our research, and am happy to discuss challenging problems to which biophysical methods might provide an answer.
