About Tim Sparks

I am currently Head of Sales, Australia for Investment Trends, a specialist financial services market research organisation. We provide business insights and decision support to many of the world’s leading financial services companies. Investment Trends combines analytical rigour and strategic thinking with the most advanced statistical techniques to help clients develop their corporate strategies and gain a competitive advantage. Our research coverage spans Australia and the US, and eight countries across Asia and Europe. Our clients include industry regulators, local and global banks, investment platforms, leverage trading providers, fund managers, superannuation and pension funds, product issuers and financial sector software providers. Prior to joining Investment Trends in September 2024, I was Head of Distribution and Marketing for Third Party Platform Pty Ltd (TPP) which trades as Bell Direct (a trading platform for retail investors) and Desktop Broker (a trading platform for financial advisers). Prior to TPP, I completed an Executive MBA whilst a member of Vanguard’s Intermediary Executive Team where I was responsible for the ETF distribution strategy for the broking and financial adviser community. Prior to that I managed the Australasian broking strategy for BlackRock's iShares ETFs and before that I managed transaction syndication for CBA’s Equity Capital Markets Team. The experience I can bring to a team draws on my studies in business and my professional experience in share trading platforms and the funds management industry. Areas of expertise include portfolio construction, ETFs, direct equities coupled with strategy development capabilities in distribution, media and marketing.
