About Todd Frederick

As the senior pastor of Pathway Community Church from 2017-2021, I was able to lead the church through several key changes- I streamlined our leadership structure moving from a two-board system with multiple overlapping conflicts to a governance team structure. The governance team provides a system where the pastor is given authority to make ministry decisions with a strong accountability to the governance team- I supervised multiple property improvement projects; repairs and upgrades to improve the appearance and functionality of the church space- I updated the church website, added online giving and a church app- I managed the church through the initial pandemic phases of 2020 and 2021, providing services online and in-person as much as possible. Some of our oldest members were able to attend mid-week services through Zoom. In the spring and summer of 2021, I led the church through a merge process with our closest denominational sister church, Heart o'the Lakes UB in Brooklyn, MI- I clearly identified the future need of the congregation and worked with senior leadership in both churches to structure, plan, and implement a process that resulted in one church in two locations- To ensure the future viability of the merge, I accepted a position as an associate pastor in the new organization- In the first six months of the merge, there were no appreciable losses in personnel or finances from the Jackson campus. As an associate pastor at Heart o'the Lakes UB- I offered multiple format educational opportunities for adults. Classes were offered in-person, through recordings and independent study- I served as a member of the pastoral team, assisting the lead pastor to apply the vision of a multi-site church to both campuses. Personal strengths- Leadership for the church through times of transition- Excellence in preaching and teaching, both topical and expositional- A focus on the church for all generations- A deep and abiding sense of mission for the church.
