Developing programmes with mainstream employment support providers (incl Department for Work & Pensions), local organisations and business to help people in the borough return to work. Currently working on Commonwealth Games Legacy and UK Shared Prosperity Funded programmes to provide employment related services for local unemployed people to access wraparound support and interventions to move them closer to employment. These services are a mix of direct delivery by SMBC and commissioned contracts and will be delivered up to 2025/26. Business Support - we offer recruitment advice and guidance leading to individual job matching or more tailored events for large scale recruitment such as jobs fairs and local workshops. Solihull MBC has a wide network of local people and organisations who have registered with us for specific opportunities in sectors (such as Retail, Construction, Care, Hospitality, Administration and STEM etc.) and, through the various programmes we help to deliver or support, the Employment and Skills Team can help your business access this talent pool to offer local recruitment solutions for your business.
