About Tommaso Borzone

Professional Experience Overview: In 2015, intrigued by an experience abroad I joined Kongsberg Maritime AS. My activity took place in two distinct phase. First during my master student internship I investigated different problems tightly connected to a modern Dynamic Positioning system, developing, as conclusion of my master thesis, numerical constrained optimization algorithms and advanced estimation systems in C/C++ language, following the most stringent requirements typical of industrial control system. Afterwards, during my work as cybernetic engineer, I kept investigating and developing advanced navigation algorithm and strategies in DP systems. In 2016 I came back in Italy for a contract at Isac Srl. During my time as software engineer there I worked on the development of a new embedded platform for CNC/PLC application. My work concerned C/C++ application development and BSP development for Windows Embedded Compact 2013. At the end of 2016, still marked by the amount of expertise and skills shown by my former Norwegian work team back at Kongsberg Maritime, mainly composed of PhDs engineer, I decided to join CEA tech for a PhD thesis in France. My work consists in the development and the deployment of a mobile multi robotics platform capable to accomplish cooperative tasks in an industrial environment. The research phase took place at the CRAN laboratory (Université de Lorraine) and involved theoretic studies of multi agent systems cooperative control and guidance and navigation systems. The development has been carried out using an IoT approach exploiting the potential of the ROS libraries in Linux and Android environment. At the end of 2019 I move back to Italy to join the Robotics and Innovative Autonomous Systems team of Eniprogetti. Here I work as software and system engineer in the developkent of robotics and IIoT sensor devices conceived for Asset Integrity and GHG emission reduction in the Oil & Gas sector.
