I became a medic because I wanted to help people, I soon realized that the better way to truly help people is for them not to get injured in the first place. I am very Passionate about WHS, because I have seen then end result of when thing go wrong in the workplace, and if I can stop someone from being injured in the workplace then I have truly done my job. I offer a unique set of skills developed through Industry experience. I have demonstrated that I am a respected leader with capacity to work in complex and high tempo environments. I am an exceptional communicator with strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills and excel at managing integrated teams in a respectful and positive manner to achieve results. I have updated my certificate IV in work, health, and safety, as well as having certificate Iv in training and assessment, pre ambulance (medic) and front-line management with several other certificates ranging from safety to logistical operations which continually demonstrates my commitment to developing a sound knowledge base supporting decision making. I am also a member of the Australian institute of health and safety which enables me to keep my qualifications current and up to date with the latest trends and finding, I am currently working towards obtaining my Certified practitioner’s qualification with AIHS. My current employment is as the Operations Supervisor/ Acting Operations Manager for Perth Markets – Overseeing all aspects of staffing having 22 staff under my command, safety compliance reporting and enforcement of the site rules, investigations to incidents using the ICAM principal of investigation that happen on site, contacting internal and external stakeholders when the need arises, having over movements on site per day, and over 500 forklifts on site at any one time. I am responsible for all reporting and recording of information regarding the compliance of vehicles and personal on site and the general public on the weekend. I also conduct all aspects of recruiting, interviewing and reference checking for suitable candidates wishing to start their carriers with Perth Markets, and have conducted other HR duties, having a very high success rate in candidate placement and management.
