I've always liked the idea of shaping a concept, even though I quickly learned that what ends up on paper is always completely different than what floated in my mind, but not necessarily worse. When I was in college I picked up sculpting as an additional method of getting these ideas realized and even now I often prefer to "sketch" things in clay rather than with pencil. Then I went on to study animation and that opened up a host of possibilities for refining ideas.As postgraduate I started to work on a concept of my own, I knew it was going to be an online comic - animation would take too much time for solo effort, I didn't know its going to be such a massive undertaking. As I worked on making it and remaking it (hackers about - beware of the ransomware) I took part in other projects. Made a short promotional comic for #Hero project by Digital Arcadia and recently worked on quite a few things in the August Club project. I was storyboarding all the scenes, designed some key props (2 as identical-as-I-managed super sculpey masks), did some running with equipment (lights mostly) and most importantly created a promotional comic to accompany DVD release.Illustration is still my favorite style of output but I enjoy backing it up with 3D renders for consistency when depicting the same objects multiple times - this is how I go about making my own online comic: Blackverse.
