About Tyron Lopes

I am a Chartered Accountant and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors with an excess of 10 years in experience in corporate turnaround, commercial finance and investment finance with over 7 years of Higher Education industry experience. As a key member of the University Commercial and Investment team, I am responsible for the management of the University's commercialisation of intellectual property process, the maintenance of the University's external credit rating, managing and recommending changes the University's capital structure. I have led the University process for the issuance of three tranches of Medium Term Notes by the University to support strategically aligned capital expenditure and develop the annual investor engagement materials to support these issuances. My role also involves the commercial assessment and evaluation of strategic development opportunities and overseeing the University's wholly owned subsidiary, which invests in a diverse range of startups, funds and real estate. I excel at sourcing investment opportunities, conducting thorough due diligence, negotiating investment terms, administering, reporting and monitoring these investments as well as adding expertise and experience to ensure their success for the subsidiary entity.
