About Umut Dursun

With over a decade of experience in education, nonprofit leadership, and social justice, I am deeply committed to empowering marginalized and underserved communities through purposeful, impactful work. I believe every child deserves a safe, nurturing space to be their authentic selves and explore their full potential. As the Executive Director and Camp Director of Harbor Camps, I lead the operations, programming, and strategic vision of an organization dedicated to providing transformative camp experiences for youth and families who often face exclusion or discrimination.Drawing from my passion for music and my experience as both a teacher and consultant, I design and implement dynamic camp activities that focus on social-emotional learning, self-expression, and building strong, supportive communities. To cultivate a culture of collaboration, inclusivity, and excellence among our team of staff, volunteers, donors, and partners, I leverage my background in education, communication, and management.I’m honored to be part of a team that has not only launched but also expanded three impactful camp programs, serving hundreds of campers annually. Our work has garnered recognition and support from various foundations and organizations, further fueling our mission to create lasting positive change.
