About Valentin Mathiot

As a GIS Software Engineer with a background in spatial data analysis, GIS project management, and object-oriented programming, I’ve built strong experience working on geospatial solutions across various sectors. My academic path—focused on database management, spatial analysis, and GIS development—has given me a solid foundation to understand both the technical and strategic aspects of geospatial data. Over the past few years, I’ve contributed to multiple projects by gathering client requirements, developing and maintaining GIS tools, and ensuring alignment with technical standards. I’ve also been involved in onboarding new team members and leading QGIS training sessions for client teams. I'm particularly comfortable conducting independent research, extracting key insights, and communicating results clearly—both in written reports and visual formats. Beyond GIS, I’m deeply interested in urban systems, spatial strategy, and sustainable infrastructure. My thesis explored the role of rail freight in regional logistics—an area I find increasingly relevant. I’m eager to grow in environments where data-driven thinking meets urban development and strategic planning. Currently, I’m looking to broaden my impact by contributing to forward-looking projects that integrate spatial intelligence into decision-making processes. I'm also keen to expand my leadership skills and deepen my knowledge in urban planning, mobility, and infrastructure development.
