About Veronica Torres Luna

Veronica believes everyone deserves a high quality of life regardless of their circumstances. As a Mexican immigrant, she recognized early on the importance of a safety net for many families to achieve upward economic mobility and increase their social capital. Her passion for positively impacting overlooked communities led her to her current role as Program Associate at Circle of Service Foundation where she contributes to grantmaking and impacts the wider educational landscape in Cook and Lake counties. Her passion for education is demonstrated through her commitment to the field having previously worked at City Year Chicago, Illinois Wesleyan University, and Chile’s national education union. In addition to education, Veronica has extensive experience in the social services and environmental sectors through her work at The Immigration Project, Western Avenue Community Center, Nordson Green Earth Foundation, DCEO, IDHS, and Human Nature in the Philippines. Veronica earned a B.A. from Illinois Wesleyan University and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
