About Vinnie Cuyt

With a background in Social Work and Conflict & Development Studies, I'm passionate about policy analysis, advocacy, and international cooperation. My expertise lies in gender equality, LGBTQ+ rights, disability inclusion, and sustainable development. As the co-founder of Ask for Consent vzw, I have developed and implemented educational and policy-driven initiatives on consent and sexual violence prevention. My experience as a UNESCO youth representative and ambassador for Plan International Belgium and Oxfam Belgium has allowed me to engage with policymakers at the Flemish, national, and European levels, advocating for youth participation, gender justice, and social inclusion. Internationally, I conducted field research in India with University Centre for Development Cooperation on the intersection of gender, sexual health, and climate, collaborating with development organizations and grassroots initiatives. Additionally, my role as a social worker at Kompas vzw has deepened my expertise in disability rights and community-based support. Through my involvement in the local and Flemish Youth Council, I have worked on policy advice and coordinated projects on climate, health, and youth participation. I'm committed to creating structural change by bridging policy, research, and grassroots action. My goal is to contribute to a more just, inclusive, and sustainable world.
