About Walter Gaines
As a Drama Teacher at Le Jardin Academy, I have been creating and teaching educational theatre for Middle and High school students for over eight years. I design and implement curriculum based on the IB standards and the principles of ensemble play creation, playwriting, directing, and advising. With a Master of Fine Arts in Ensemble Theatre from Dell'Arte International School of Physical Theatre and a TESOL certification, I have a strong background and passion for theatre research, pedagogy, and performance. I specialize in commedia dell'arte, comedy, clowning, physical theatre, and storytelling, and I have been working as an Arts Educator, Writer, and Performer at Le Jardin Academy for 9 years. I also have experience teaching Period Movement Styles as an Adjunct Professor at the same institution at UH Manoa, where I also received my Masters degree in Theatre (emphasis on playwriting, theatre history, and pedagogical studies.
