Professor Wei Chua is a Senior Staff Specialist and the Director of Medical Oncology at Liverpool Hospital NSW. Appointed Professor of Oncology and Cancer Care at Western Sydney University in 2020, she leads work that bridges clinical practice, research, and health equity.Her research focuses on translational oncology, including predicting treatment response, understanding adverse events, and improving equity and access for people affected by cancer. She chairs the Steering Committee of the Australian Centre for Cancer Equity (AcCE), driving national efforts to reduce and eliminate disparities in cancer outcomes.Professor Chua serves for more than a decade as Director of Clinical Trials for Medical Oncology at Liverpool Hospital. Under her leadership, the unit expanded significantly and was awarded the CINSW Outstanding Clinical Trials Unit Award in 2025.
