In May 2016, William H. Groner (Bill) founded SSAM Alternative Dispute Resolution. SSAM seeks to redefine the Art, Science, and Experience of Dispute Resolution. After a 35-year litigation career which included hundreds of negotiations, mediations, and trials, encompassing over a Billion dollars in disputes, Bill is determined to create more effective, efficient (and pleasant) dispute resolution opportunities for litigants and adversaries in a broad variety of contexts. Bill co-authored the book 9/12: The Epic Battle of the Ground Zero Responders (Potomac Books 2019) an Amazon best seller, which reflected his experiences in representing first responders, construction workers, volunteers, and others who were exposed to various Ground Zero toxins and contaminants during the 9 month cleanup post 9/11. 9/12 weaves together Groner’s firsthand account with glimpses into the first responders’ lives as they try to understand and overcome their illnesses. The result is an intimate look into their battles—physical, mental, and legal—that will leave you cheering for these heroes who, in spite of everything, would do it all again. Told by Groner and journalist Tom Teicholz, 9/12 is the story of the brave public servants who showed up when their country needed them most, of their decade long fight for redress, and of their victory in the face of the seemingly insurmountable. Bill is a former co-founding and Managing Partner at Worby Groner Edelman LLP with 35 years of experience in personal injury, product liability, medical malpractice, and toxic exposure litigation. Bill has been a frequent lecturer on all aspects of personal injury practice and law, and as an adjunct Professor of Law, taught a seminar in the Fall of 2013, 2014, and 2015 at Boston University School of Law entitled “Anatomy of a Mass Tort”. He has made numerous radio and TV appearances including 20/20 ABC News, CNN (Worldwide), Good Day NY, Fox, and CBS. He is founder and Past President of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, Westchester Chapter, and has been repeatedly selected as a New York Super Lawyer, characterized as a ‘rating service of outstanding lawyers who have attained a high-degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.’ Bill also enjoys the maximum rating available (AV-5.0) from Martindale- Hubbell which denotes the “highest level of professional excellence.”
