Wouter Winnen is currently heading the fund investments team (10 FTEs) at ParticipatieMaatschappij Vlaanderen (PMV). He was instrumental in setting up several venture capital funds, in particular in seed & early-stage to facilitate funding for university spin-offs and innovative start-ups in Flanders to scale them internationally. In the scale-up, growth & buy-out segment, several investment funds with Belgian angle were financed through Belgian Growth Fund (BGF), a joint fund-of-funds initiative of SFPIM with PMV and BNP Paribas Fortis. He represents PMV on the Consultative Forum of EIF-NPI Equity Platform, an initiative of the European Commission and European Investment Fund (EIF). Before joining PMV, he served as academic assistant in the field of Management, Strategy and Innovation at the Faculty of Economics and Business of KU Leuven, where he is 'Fellow of the Hogenheuvelcollege'. He holds a Master of Electromechanical Engineering Technology, a Master in Business Economics and a Master of Science in Applied Economics (KU Leuven).
