About Yuejun Guo

The famous Alan Turing posed the biggest question "Can machine think?" in 1950; since then, scientists have attempted to answer that by taking small steps towards creating machines that can think. Artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) has seen rapid evolution with its application in almost every possible aspect of daily life. I have seen the true power of AI/ML within video surveillance, computer vision (CV), natural language processing (NLP), and software engineering (SE) throughout my master, Ph.D, and postdoc projects, and I intend to push further in my career. Currently, as a Senior R&T Scientist at LIST, my research explores AI/ML for various application domains, such as cybersecurity, NLP, and telecom security. Lately, everyone is talking about large language models (LLMs), whether one understands or not, due to their supremacy in capturing knowledge from a vast amount of data. Because of the low interpretability, AI/ML models have raised reliability and security concerns. Therefore, ensuring safety and reliability of AI/ML is of great importance, which also attracts my attention. In summary, my eventual career goal is to push the boundaries of AI/ML applications to improve the understanding and use in the society.
