About Zach Bishop

I am a recent graduate of Randolph College with a Bachelor of Arts in both Creative Writing and Comparative Philosophy, as well as a minor in Editing with experience editing essays, short fiction, and poetry. I have a passion for writing in all different forms including essays, adult fantasy short stories, and free verse poetry. I was awarded the 2024 Margaret I. Raynal Prize for Creative Prose for my senior project, a short story titled "Abracadabra." I also have a passion for religious studies and philosophy. While an undergraduate at Randolph, I co-led a Summer Research Project with Associate Professor of Philosophy, Dr. Kaija Mortensen, focused on facilitating interfaith dialogue across religious differences and navigating the challenges that come with it. I was one of two recipients awarded the 2024 Edwin A. Penick Jr. Award for Excellence in Religious Studies for my senior project, which I co-led with Kai Miller. Our work focused on facilitating interfaith dialogue on campus, studying the history of Randolph's Huston Memorial Chapel and Religious life, and making recommendations for the future of campus religious life. I was the the supervisor of Randolph College's Writing Lab in the Academic Services Center, I have experience tutoring undergraduates in basic writing skills, supervising a team of five writing tutors in weekly meetings, and directing planning of the Writing Lab's yearly event LNAP (The Long Night Against Procrastination). As a Randolph College S.T.A.R.(Summer Transition at Randolph) tutor, I helped prepare students for their academic college experience.
