About Zach McCarthy

I'm located in the Greater Toronto Area working with HITE Engineering Corporation as a consultant in their Industrial Department. My role is to provide expertise to our industrial clients and address their safety-related needs. My skillset centers on machine safeguarding requirements, design, commissioning and assessment of safety control systems, requirements for ignitable liquids and combustible dusts, and risk assessment requirements and facilitation. I am well acquainted with the relevant standards and regulations that apply to these topics in Ontario, including a variety of CSA, ISO, NFPA and ANSI standards, as well as O. Reg 213 - Fire Code, O. Reg. 851 - Industrial Establishments and the Ontario Electrical Code. My work experience is centered in industrial electrical design, project management, interpretation of standards and regulatory requirements, and leading risk assessment groups and training sessions. Outside of work I can generally be found somewhere around downtown Toronto, whether bird-watching, climbing, gardening, or biking. Otherwise I'm likely playing cards somewhere.
