About Zachary Melanson

I am a graduate of the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs (NPSIA) who has a passion for trade policy, international affairs, and politics. Academically I have focused primarily on a variety of legal, trade issues and international affairs courses that have broadened my perspectives on many issues today, and helped develop my critical thinking. Attending an international trade course in San Jose, Costa Rica significantly broadened and enriched my perspectives on many trade issues facing Canada today. Additionally, managing and advocating on behalf of the NPSIA Student Association as Co-President gave me unparalleled experience in a leadership role. Professionally my past work experience includes summer internships at a wealth management firm, an auditing position in Canada's fisheries department, a role in Canada's military supply chain, and most recently a centralized experience in the corporate planning directorate at Transport Canada. Beyond work and academics, I strive to stay physically active through sports, running, hiking and cycling. I like to try and maintain an active lifestyle by walking to events or biking to work. Some of my favourite memories include summiting many peaks in the Adirondacks region.
