Barterchain is a peer-to-peer platform, building resilient, connected, cashless communities - through the oldest form of value exchange - barter. Our app allows users to swap what they have, for what they need - so that they can access opportunities and resources cash-free. Instead of money - this economy is based on trust, sharing, equality and reciprocity - much like our ancestors’ Meitheal communities. Our mission is one of social and economic inclusion and integration - tackling the twin problems of financial exclusion and social disconnection. We got this idea into Ireland’s very first Techstars and in 2023 we launched an app that has since organically reached users, across 132 countries And a lot of change is around the corner for Barterchain.
