One million Australians suffer the debilitating, life-threatening illness of an eating disorder, yet 80% of these people suffer alone and never get support. It’s no wonder why eating disorders have the highest mortality rate of any mental illness. Chaos & Calm is a fresh-faced and innovative social enterprise that fills these gaps for thousands of Australians who are drowning silently. We bring together the best bits of healthcare and academia whilst making it exciting, engaging and accessible. We consult with major organisations and companies to create systemic change which then funds our free programs and community support to those who need it most. Our mission is that all Australians can access the communities and support they need to feel safe, celebrated and autonomous in their bodies. We resist diet culture, we show fatphobia the door, and when we say eating disorders are not the individual's fault - we really mean it.
