De Stilte

Dansgezelschap de Stilte wil met meerduidige voorstellingen en dansactiviteiten, die de verbeelding prikkelen, de speelse leerdrift van kinderen stimuleren en hun artistieke vermogens aanjagen. Door het spel leert een kind met hart en ziel zijn wereld kennen en zich te positioneren in een overdonderende samenleving. Spel is de tegenhanger van de alledaagsheid: het persoonlijke oefenterrein van het kind. In het spel ontmoet het kind de wereld vanuit zijn condities en in zijn formaat. De Stilte zet in op voorstellingen die tijd en ruimte bieden aan de fantasie van de toeschouwer. Voorstellingen die kinderen serieus nemen en een nieuw dansidioom presenteren dat samensmelt met thematiek, toneelbeeld en muziek. De werkelijkheid wordt in producties niet geïmiteerd, maar verbeeld en gestileerd. Voor de vijfde keer in zes jaar is de Stilte het meest bereisde dansgezelschap van Nederland. In 2015 presenteerde de Stilte 89 voorstellingen en 22 dansduetten op buitenlandse podia- Through their multi-layered performances and dance activities, dance company de Stilte aims to excite the imagination, stimulate children’s playful curiosity and encourage their artistic skills. By playing, children get to know their world with their heart and soul; they learn to position themselves in an overwhelming society. Play is the opposite of everyday routine: the child’s personal training ground. While playing, children meet the world on their terms and in their format. De Stilte aims to present performances offering time and space to the audience’s imagination. Performances which take children seriously and present a new dance idiom which blends with the theme, the scenery and music. Reality is not imitated in the productions, but portrayed and stylised. For the fifth time in six years, de Stilte is the most widely travelled dance company of the Netherlands. In 2015, de Stilte presented 89 performances and 22 dance duets on international stages.
