Digital Education Platform

The education system in Afghanistan has encountered significant challenges in recent years, stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent government change. These circumstances have resulted in millions of Afghan students, particularly girls, being excluded from educational opportunities. The departure of skilled professionals who had previously worked with educational institutions has had a profound impact on the country. This disruption not only affected individuals but also weakens the education, academic, and social foundations established over the past two decades in the country. Consequently, Afghanistan faces a void in various sectors, impeding its ability to effectively manage economic, governmental, political, and legal affairs. This crisis has been further intensified by the loss of experienced individuals, exacerbating the challenges faced by the education system. According to a report by the children's charity UNICEF, there are currently more than 3.7 million children in Afghanistan who are unable to access education, with girls accounting for 60% of this staggering figure. This situation represents a pressing concern not only for Afghanistan but also for the international community, as it has far-reaching consequences on immigration patterns, including human trafficking, and poses potential security risks. The effects of the education crisis in Afghanistan are deeply concerning, with an estimated 8 million school-aged children now requiring urgent support to access education “Save the Children”. This number has significantly increased compared to previous years, signifying the gravity of the situation. Failing to address this crisis could have severe long-term implications for Afghanistan and the wider region. To address these challenges and provide a comprehensive solution, the proposed project aims to establish an online digital learning platform. This platform will serve as a valuable educational resource for Afghan boys and girls.
