Gifford Bioscience Limited
We are a specialist CRO focused on receptor–ligand interactions, delivering robust data from physiologically relevant systems. Pharma and biotech teams work with us for radioligand binding, receptor occupancy, autoradiography, functional GPCR assays, SPR screening, and radionuclide projects including PET tracer evaluation in human tissue. Our oncology, neurology and metabolic programmes use ethically sourced human tissues as well as native tissues, membranes, cultured cells and recombinant proteins. We run saturation and competition binding, ex vivo occupancy,[³⁵S]GTPγS, calcium and cAMP assays, with label-free kinetics by SPR. For PET discovery, we help shortlist and rank candidate tracers using binding and autoradiography in human tumour sections, to de-risk in vivo work. What sets us apart is access to relevant tissue, practical assay design and transparent, reproducible results. We obtain human samples through approved routes, manage pre-analytical variables and report data that supports clear decisions. Gifford Bioscience serve clients globally, with a growing focus on the USA and Europe. We are based at the University of Birmingham's research park, near the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. Planning binding, occupancy, functional GPCR, SPR, or PET tracer screening in human tissue or other platforms? Let us help you move from question to decision with confidence.
