Our aim is always to help you recognize where you want to be and then journey alongside you to get there. Whether that's as an individual, or as a collective. All our offerings are to help you navigate our societies' current systems as best as you can, while maintaining hope and action for a better future. The Butterfly Effect Uwo

This initiative introduces hundreds of students to the world of paying it forward and performing random acts of kindness, which can have significant influences on both the performer and the recipient of the act of kindness. With all the hate, segregation and tragedy occurring in the world currently, a simple act of kindness can have a profound effect. The purpose of this initiative is behind its’ name; small causes have larger effects. As the famous mathematician Edward Lorenz once said, a butterfly flapping it’s wings in Mexico can cause a hurricane in Japan. This initiative is a small change when looking holistically but according to the Chaos theory small changes to the initial conditions of a system can result in large differences in later states. We’ve created this group to help make a lasting impact on the students at Western by spreading positivity and happiness.

Lubdhok - A Community Support Network For South Asian Men

Lubdhok/লুব্ধক (Sirius in Bangla, the brightest star in the night sky) is a community-driven group dedicated to providing support, resources, and a safe space for South Asian men in Canada. Recognizing the unique challenges faced by men from South Asian backgrounds, Lubdhok aims to foster a sense of belonging, promote mental health awareness, and address issues such as cultural expectations, societal pressures, and discrimination. As a community congregation focused on positive masculinities, we believe in empowering South Asian men to embrace healthy and equitable relationships. We advocate for men's active participation in achieving gender equality and challenge traditional stereotypes that can limit their potential. We also organize Support Groups where South Asian men can share experiences on topics such as mental health, positive fatherhood, intimate partner violence, positive masculinities, and cultural identity to connect with others and find support in a welcoming environment. Through our various initiatives, we aim to create a supportive and inclusive environment where South Asian men can connect, learn, grow, and thrive. We believe that by fostering a sense of community and providing essential resources, we can help South Asian men overcome challenges, build stronger relationships, and contribute meaningfully to society.
