Darien Boat Club
The Darien Boat Club is located at 135 Pear Tree Point Road in Darien, Connecticut. The Boat Club offers a well protected anchorage for the membership's boats in a picturesque residential setting. The Long Island Sound is easily and quickly accessed by the short harbor in which it is situated between the many harbors of Stamford and Norwalk. The Darien Boat Club is ideally located for day trips to the Norwalk Islands, Five Mile River, Norwalk Harbor, Stamford Harbor, and only seven miles away from the north shore of Long Island to the south. Founded in the late 1940's, and open to the residents of Darien, the membership has grown from a few charter members, to 700+ and their families. The boat club has slips for 250 boats ranging in size from dinghies to 28' power and sail boats. Other facilities include a launch service, racks for inflatables, kayaks, sunfishes, & canoes, additional space for beached dinghies are secured by chain. The Boat Club also has a gas dock, fresh water on all docks, lockers for gear, and bagged ice for sale. The club has three parties during the season, Opening, Mid Season, and Closing, in addition to the annual Lobster/Clam Bake held in September.

Fippoa The Pines Foundation
The Fire Island Pines Property Owners' Association (FIPPOA) was incorporated in 1953 to assume responsibility for the community’s property, and through the years the association’s role has expanded to become the recognized local government representing the interests of Fire Island Pines with federal, state, Suffolk County and Town of Brookhaven officials and agencies. With more than 500 members, FIPPOA is led by elected officers and a board of directors who oversee the operations of the community and help protect the fragile ecosystem of a barrier island. FIPPOA operations include the Pines Harbor and Marina, which the association owns and from which it derives a substantial portion of the association’s income. Among the many responsibilities assumed by FIPPOA are beach erosion protection, harbor maintenance and beautification, safety and lighting, and operation of the post office. The association coordinates with other local government agencies for boardwalk maintenance, waste collection and mosquito control as well as negotiating contracts for passenger ferry and freight services. In addition, FIPPOA serves as liaison with electric, telecommunications and water utilities and the Suffolk County Police. The Pines Foundation is the Section 501(c)(3) affiliate of the Fire Island Pines Property Owners’ Association. The Pines Foundation (TPF) raises critical funds for our local Pines programs and projects that make our community thrive. In addition, TPF provides grants to our long-time beneficiaries - Stonewall Community Foundation and Seashore Defense Fund. Over its lifetime, The Pines Foundation has raised over $3.7 million for its beneficiaries.

In addition to delicious food, people are surrounded by artwork adorning our 16-foot walls, and advertising for a movie projection, a community supper, an artist talk, language conversation groups, excursions and guided tours to museums, among others… as many opportunities for people to come together at FRIEDA and beyond. Hawthorne Youth And Community Center Hycc
Hawthorne Youth and Community Center is a grassroots, non-profit that has been responsive to community needs for over forty years. The center, the brainchild of a small group of concerned community youth and adults, began in a converted coal cellar in 1967. Three years later operations moved to a larger Roxbury facility at 9 Fulda Street, a building on an Archdiocese owned complex. In 1973, they formally incorporated as Hawthorne Youth & Community Center (HYCC). In 1984, with community support and fundraising, a ten-year old dream was realized that allowed us to secure the property deed. In 2015, HYCC after years of planning got a new building. Sadly, we broke ground on the same day we lost our beloved Sam Sadd who dedicated her life to Highland Park and its youth. Since its inception HYCC has provided quality educational, cultural and recreational programming for youth and adults as well as a forum where residents come together to improve the quality of neighborhood life. HYCC supports and celebrates the rich diversity of Roxbury’s Highland Park.
