The Coral Triangle Initiative On Coral Reefs, Fisheries, And Food Security Cti-Cff
The Coral Triangle Initiative on Coral Reefs, Fisheries, and Food Security (CTI-CFF) is a multilateral partnership of six countries working together to sustain extraordinary marine and coastal resources by addressing crucial issues such as food security, climate change and marine biodiversity. It is the first multilateral cooperation of its kind, one that focuses on food security through sustainable management of marine natural resources taking into consideration climate change impacts. The CTI-CFF is formed in 2009 and members include the governments of Indonesia, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Solomon Islands and Timor-Leste (the ‘CT6’) representing the custodians of the Coral Triangle area. They adopted the CTI Regional Plan of Action (CTI RPOA) which is a strategic action plan with five goals:(1) designation of effectively managed seascapes;(2) application of an ecosystem approach to fisheries management;(3) establishment of a fully functional marine protected area system;(4) strengthening climate change adaptation and resilience; and (5) improving the status of threatened marine species.

Project Laut
Project Laut was established in 2020 with the aim of raising awareness and improving the information available on the critically endangered hawksbill sea turtles in Indonesia. In addition, Project Laut now focuses on the restoration of the marine habitat surrounding the island of Nusa Penida. Our Divemaster and Conservation Internship is also central to the operations. Within a matter of months, interns not only receive their SSI Divemaster certification, but regularly participate in hawksbill identification and learn coral restoration techniques. To date, our organization has certified over 50 Divemasters, identified over 250 individual hawksbill sea turtles and made over 400 resightings of hawksbills. Additionally, Project Laut has restored over 100m2 of previously dredged ocean habitat via coral planting on rebar structures. Our program is meticulously designed to equip university students and recent graduates with practical, hands-on conservation experience in one of the world's marine biodiversity hotspots. Program Highlights: Hawksbill Turtle Monitoring: Engage in intricate photo-identification processes, track turtle movements, and contribute to our significant database with over 300 identified turtles and interactions. Coral Restoration Initiatives: Learn the MARRS assisted reef technique, experiment with coral planting strategies, and be part of our proud achievement in coral restoration with over 100 square meters of reef stabilized. Comprehensive Divemaster Training: Our program, renowned for its depth, ensures that every intern undertakes between 60-100 dives, acquainting them with the rich marine biodiversity of Nusa Penida. Program Duration: Spanning 8 to 14 weeks, the program offers flexibility, with options for week-by-week extensions. Location: Positioned in the marine protected area of Nusa Penida, Bali, our location serves as both a stunning backdrop and a significant site for marine conservation efforts.

Pusat Riset Konservasi Gajah Dan Biodiversitas Hutan
Pusat Riset Konservasi Gajah dan Biodiversitas Hutan, abbreviated as PKGB, also known as the Research Center for Elephant Conservation and Biodiversity Forest, was established on May 22, 2018. PKGB is an organization engaged in elephant conservation and saving biodiversity in Aceh. The establishment of this institution was based on the high threat to elephants and wildlife as well as a decrease in quality in terms of biodiversity, which directly impacts animals and leads to extinction. This institution has a mission to save endangered species through increased research and management of biodiversity resources as one of the efforts to increase the contribution of Syiah Kuala University to Aceh Province. In addition, this institution also has a mission to improve education through various disciplines, including biodiversity, conservation, animal ecology, plant ecology, veterinary medicine, agriculture, social, and education. On the other hand, we highly uphold forest sustainability, reducing conflicts between humans and animals through empowering the economy of communities in forest border areas that directly impact forest sustainability.
