Cela se traduit par la diminution des coûts de transport associés à la production agricole en ville qui permet de s’approvisionner en produits alimentaires de proximité. Mobilisant également la communauté environnante, le CRAPAUD se veut ouvert sur les différentes possibilités de partenariat avec des organismes à but non-lucratif œuvrant dans les quartiers avoisinants sur les causes environnementales et sociales.

Le Nichoir Wild Bird Conservation Centre

Situated at the entrance to the Clarke Sydenham Nature Reserve in Hudson, QC, Le Nichoir’s mission is to conserve wild birds as part of our natural heritage. Le Nichoir delivers its mission through: professional and compassionate care of injured and orphaned wild birds and the development and delivery of public environmental education programs. Le Nichoir admits over 1800 birds annually representing over 100 species from over 180 towns in Quebec and is recognized as the largest centre of its kind in Canada for songbirds. The Centre offers public education through multiple channels; 1) visits and tours of the Centre, 2) manning kiosks at various community events, 3) phone calls and emails and 4) formal environmental educational programs for children including Bird Adaptations: Custom-made for Habitat, Avian Detectives and What is a bird? Le Nichoir, situé à l’entrée de la réserve naturelle Clarke Sydenham à Hudson, Québec, a pour mission de conserver le patrimoine naturel que sont les oiseaux sauvages. Il accomplit cette mission en prodiguant des soins professionnels et attentifs aux oiseaux blessés ou orphelins, en élaborant et en offrant au public des programmes éducatifs environnementaux. Annuellement, Le Nichoir accueille plus de 1800 oiseaux appartenant à plus de 100 espèces et provenant de plus de 180 villes du Québec. Il est reconnu comme le plus grand centre de ce type au Canada pour les oiseaux chanteurs.
