Eesti Kunstiakadeemia disainiteaduskond on pühendunud disaini- ja tarbekunstiharidusele. Eesti ainsa avalik-õigusliku kunstiülikoolina anname nii arhitektuuri, disaini, kunsti- kui ka kunstikultuurialast kõrgharidust, millega toetame Eesti arengut mõtestades ja kujundades kultuuriruumi ning aidates luua kestlikumat elukeskkonda. EKA ja disainiteaduskonna visioon on kuuluda Põhja- ja Baltimaade regiooni kvaliteetseimat kunsti, ja arhitektuuri- ja disainiharidust pakkuvate ülikoolide hulka ning on Eestis selle valdkonna loome, teadus- ja arendustöö eestvedaja. EKA on seadnud endale arengukavas neli strateegilist eesmärki: EKA õppekavad on ajakohased ja pakuvad kõrgel tasemel kõrgharidust. EKA teadustöö loob ühiskonna ja kultuuri seisukohalt uusi teadmisi nii akadeemilise uurimistöö kui ka uuendusliku loovuurimuse kaudu. EKA on osa rahvusvahelisest kunstiväljast ja selle uurimisest. EKA tegevus loob väärtust erinevates eluvaldkondades. EKA on pühendunud inimestele toetuv avatud suhtlus- ja juhtimiskultuuriga organisatsioon, kus on loodud võimalused professionaalseks eneseteostuseks.
