Sandusky Area Maritime Association
The purposes for which the Sandusky Area Maritime Association is established are: To collect, preserve, research, exhibit and interpret the maritime heritage of the Sandusky Area, including Port Clinton to and including Huron, the Lake Erie Islands and South to and including the Milan area. The Association will maintain a museum and archives open to the public. It will create a public awareness and appreciation of the Sandusky area’s Lake Erie environment & heritage through educational programs, exhibits, lectures, publications, and special events.

Savannah River Site Museum
The Savannah River Site Museum (SRSM) is a place for sharing culture, cultivating curiosity, and engaging in our local Aiken, SC community. The SRSM operates in collaboration with the Aiken County Historical Museum and with the guidance of the Savannah River Site Heritage Foundation. Since 2015, the museum has interpreted the stories of the Savannah River Site through innovative exhibits, hands-on activities, and community-engaged events. The Savannah River Site (SRS), formally known as the Savannah River Plant (SRP), is a key Department of Energy (DOE) industrial complex responsible for disposition of nuclear materials, waste management, environmental cleanup and environmental stewardship. During the 1950s, SRS began to produce materials used in nuclear weapons, primarily tritium and plutonium-239. Five reactors and support facilities were built to produce these nuclear materials. Irradiated materials were moved from the reactors to one of the two chemical separations plants. In these facilities, known as “canyons,” the irradiated fuel and target assemblies were chemically processed to separate useful products from waste. After refinement, nuclear materials were shipped to other DOE sites for final application. SRS produced about 36 metric tons of plutonium from 1953 to 1988.

Tarble Arts Center
The Tarble Arts Center is the teaching museum on the campus of Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, IL. With an artist-led approach, the Tarble presents an annual program of rotating exhibitions that provide experiential encounters with art of international significance and local relevance. The onsite Education Lab, Design Lab, and Collections + Exhibitions Lab are hubs for transdisciplinary activity, positioning art as a primary tool for research, advancing knowledge, and interpreting the world we live in. This experimentation produces projects, publications, and opportunities that reach EIU students, community members, regional partners, and international collaborators both in the museum and wherever they are. The Tarble’s ongoing stewardship of a permanent collection of contemporary art, American Regionalism, and folk art provides opportunities for study and reflection to students of all ages.

The Earl Scruggs Center
The Earl Scruggs Center combines the life story of legendary five-string banjo master and Cleveland County native, Earl Scruggs, with the unique and engaging story of the history and cultural traditions of the region in which Mr. Scruggs was born and raised. It was in the nearby Flint Hill community where Mr. Scruggs learned to play banjo and began the three-finger playing style that has come to be known around the world as “Scruggs Style.” The Earl Scruggs Center explores Mr. Scruggs’ innovative career and the community that gave it shape while celebrating how he crossed musical boundaries and defined the voice of the banjo to the world. The Cat Museum Of New York City
The Cat Museum of New York City is a proposed institution for arts-based public education about cats, our relationships with them, their role in culture today and throughout history, and the environments they inhabit (especially urban ecosystems like NYC). Programming will include art and photography exhibitions, books, gift shop merchandise, and educational workshops on how to care for and better understand cats and encourage getting involved in cat rescue, TNR, adoption/fostering, and more. Our art exhibitions, special event programming, and online resources (through social media and our website) will connect people with information about-How best to care for cats as pets throughout their lives, including health and veterinary care, behavior, and enrichment -Rescue, adoption, and other efforts to improve the lives of felines and lessen the suffering of cats, birds, and other species -Interesting pop culture about cats We will also amplify the efforts of rescuers, shelters, artists, and others whose work supports these initiatives. It’s clear that solutions to issues affecting cats will be more effective if they are systemic. We apply a lens not just of animal welfare and art, but also compassion for the humans who want to lessen the suffering of animals and make art that celebrates cats. These individuals include BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and low-income communities; women; those afflicted by mental illness; and others who have historically been discriminated against, ignored/erased, or stigmatized by the general public, traditional animal welfare organizations, and art institutions. For our work in cat-related art, we believe in supporting artists’ rights, the public’s access to art and information, and promoting ethical practices. Our gift shop purchasing and production will prioritize products that support original artists/designers, mom-and-pop businesses and ethical independent vendors, the local economy, sustainability, environmental justice, and social justice.

The Colored Girls Museum
The Colored Girls Museum (TCGM) is a memoir museum founded by Vashti DuBois that honors the stories, experiences and history of ordinary Colored Girls. The first of its kind, the museum initiates the object—submitted by the Colored Girl herself—as a representative of an aspect of her story and personal history which she finds meaningful. These objects embody her experience and expression of being a Colored Girl. TCGM distinguishes itself by exclusively collecting, preserving, honoring and decoding artifacts pertaining to the experience and herstory of Colored Girls. This museum is equal parts research facility, exhibition space, gathering place and think tank. TCGM was founded in 2015 and is located in the historic neighborhood of Germantown in Philadelphia, an area renowned for its compliment of historic buildings and homes.
