Ensemble Musikfabrik
Seit der Gründung 1990 zählt das Ensemble Musikfabrik zu den führenden Klangkörpern der zeitgenössischen Musik. Dem Anspruch des eigenen Namens folgend, ist das Ensemble Musikfabrik in besonderem Maße der künstlerischen Innovation verpflichtet. Neue, unbekannte, in ihrer medialen Form ungewöhnliche und oft erst eigens in Auftrag gegebene Werke sind sein eigentliches Produktionsfeld. Die Ergebnisse dieser häufig in enger Kooperation mit den Komponisten geleisteten Arbeit präsentiert das in Köln beheimatete internationale Solistenensemble in jährlich bis zu einhundert Konzerten im In- und Ausland, auf Festivals, in der eigenen Abonnementreihe "Musikfabrik im WDR" und in regelmäßigen Audioproduktionen für den Rundfunk und den CD-Markt. Bei WERGO erscheint die eigene CD-Reihe "Edition Musikfabrik", deren erste CD "Sprechgesänge" 2011 den ECHO Klassik gewann. Alle wesentlichen Entscheidungen werden dabei von den Musikern in Eigenverantwortung getroffen. Die Auseinandersetzung mit modernen Kommunikationsformen und experimentellen Ausdrucksmöglichkeiten ist ihnen ein zentrales Anliegen. Through its Friends association it is connected to choirs and individuals active in the field of collective singing in Europe. Through this network we are in contact with more than 2,5 million individuals. With the opening of MONOM at the historic Funkhaus Berlin, Berlin gains an experimental performance venue and state of the art spatial sound studio. At the heart of MONOM is the 4DSOUND system, brought to life by a collective of engineers and over 100 artists during a decade long period of research, experimentation and public performances. This one of a kind instrument immerses up to 400 people inside 48 omnidirectional speakers suspended throughout the venue, extending to 9 powerful subs submerged beneath an acoustically transparent floor. MONOM commissions artist residencies and public performances that will explore the possibilities of spatial sound as an expressive medium. Beyond unprecedented realtime control over sounds parameters, 4DSOUND pioneers the harmonious integration with any and all interfaces – movement, light, virtual augmented reality, bio-feedback, metric or brainwave - providing an opportunity for artists to collaborate and combine sensory dimensions - in effect to compose, and perform a live ecosystem. MONOM will use this powerful integration as a summons to bring together not only sonic artists and musicians across genre and styles but also artists and technologists across disciplines –- making MONOM also one of the world's premier immersive experience laboratories.

Im Bereich der vereinsgetragenen Amateurmusik engagiert sich der BMCO für wichtige Themen wie die Förderung von Engagement und Ehrenamt sowie die Nachwuchsgewinnung. Dazu entwickelt er spartenübergreifende Weiterbildungsformate. Seine Mitgliedsverbände und deren Basis, die einzelnen Ensembles, unterstützt der BMCO mit praktischen Tipps und verschiedenen Förderprogrammen des Bundes. So finanziert Musik für alle! Projekte im Rahmen des vom BMBF initiierten Programms „Kultur macht stark. Bündnisse für Bildung“, die Kindern und Jugendlichen den Zugang zur Musik ermöglichen. MusikVorOrt fördert mit Mitteln des Bundesprogramms Ländliche Entwicklung (BULE) über den Haushalt der Kulturstaatsministerin innovative Musikprojekte im ländlichen Raum. Mit NEUSTART AMATEURMUSIK und IMPULS setzen wir Rettungsprogramme im Rahmen von NEUSTART KULTUR zur Sicherung und Wiederbelebung der Amateurmusik nach der Corona-Pandemie um. Für die Zelter-Plakette und die Pro-Musica-Plakette, die der Bundespräsident regelmäßig an seit 100 Jahren aktive Chöre und Orchestervereinigungen verleiht, führt der BMCO die Geschäftsstellen der Empfehlungsausschüsse, koordiniert die Antragsverfahren und organisiert jedes Jahr in einer anderen deutschen Stadt den bundeszentralen Festakt zur Überreichung.
