African Women Acting Awa
African Women Acting is a not-for-profit African Women Artists organization geared towards empowering, preserving and promoting Women issues & the heritage of African culture through African arts and Female artistes or artistes with African expression. We also intend to increase the public understanding and appreciation of African traditional and contemporary arts through professional female artistic production i.e. music, theatre, spoken word, dance, visual-arts and festival. Our priority as AWA is focused on African female or artists of African Diaspora but we as well collaborate with other gender and ethnic group’s counterpart in the artistic scene. AWA will create new role models of professional African female artistes (or artistes with African expression) in Canada and across through proper training/education, community projects and collaborations, productions, exhibitions. Instructional seminars will be provided on topics relating to the female performing and visual arts (music, dance, theatre art, filmmaking, literary art, creative visual and design art & media art) Production of AWA performing arts festivals and workshops with female Artists participation will be held in public and private venues, senior citizen homes, churches, community centres, groups and educational institutions at all levels. AWA will also create an informative network among female artistes and advise on the artistic activities and initiatives that are held among countries internationally.

Angelwalk Theatre
Angelwalk Theatre is a not-for-profit professional musical theatre company based in Toronto that promotes an environment of equity, inclusion, and diversity. Founded in 2009, it is dedicated to producing musical theatre and to providing opportunities to students, emerging artists and professional artists. To date, Angelwalk Theatre has produced 18 musicals and has been nominated for 11 Dora Mavor Moore Awards. Select credits include the world premiere of Off-Broadway On Stage; the Canadian premieres of Stars of David, Ordinary Days, and I Love You Because; and the Toronto premieres of Altar Boyz and Title of Show. Through its productions, Angelwalk Theatre has raised money for The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) and Heart & Stroke.

We talk studio tips and tricks, discuss tour and road stories from days long by, ramble about the creative process, and from time to time, talk to friends about their own musical experiences. This podcast is for your entertainment. It’s also a place for us to laugh, vent, and maybe even learn something. We will ask you to send us music as we love hearing new and exciting sounds and we welcome your participation. We will have some permanent topics and others that may drift in on one episode, only to drift away the following episode. If you love a certain segment, or despise a certain segment, let us know. We welcome your input. Got an idea for a segment? Send us a message! You think that we hit the ball out of the park? Please, let us know! You think that we swung wildly and completely missed the ball? Send us your rebuttal, rebuke, rework; we might be grouchy, but we are not always right (just mostly). This podcast needs your participation, and yes, your music! We are hoping to feature talented individuals on our show; currently, we are working on ways to interview folks. With the way things are presently, it’s a bit more challenging, but not impossible.
