Robots In Architecture
The international Association for Robots in Architecture is originally a spin off association of Vienna University of Technology. Its goal is to make industrial robots accessible for the creative industry, artists, designers and architects, by sharing ideas, research results and technological developments. Founded in December 2010 by Sigrid Brell-Cokcan and Johannes Braumann, robots in architecture is an open platform for everybody interested in the creative use of and innovative fabrication with industrial robots. Robots in Architecture is engaged in applied research, soft- and hardware development, “robot pedagogics” – and in the question: how soon will robots revolutionize architecture? We pursue the association’s goal by offering workshops and holding lectures at international conferences, schools, and universities, and by maintaining the Robots in Architecture homepage, which serves as a hub for all things robotic in architecture, art, and design. In 2011, Robots in Architecture presented KUKA|prc, a plugin for Grasshopper that for the first time enables robot control from within architectural software. It is continuously updated with new features and freely available for Robots in Architecture members.

RURASMUS fördert den zukunftsgerichteten Transformationsprozess des ruralen Raumes in Europa durch die Umsetzung und Etablierung eines europäischen Aufs-Land-Semesters. Mit der innovativen Methode des RURASMUS-Semesters leben und arbeiten Studierende ein Semester lang in ländlich geprägten Gemeinden/Kommunen und entwickeln, im Rahmen ihrer Hochschulausbildung, entlang lokaler Herausforderungen und realer Bedürfnisse, in Kooperation mit Verwaltungsträger, ihren Hochschulen/Universitäten und dem RURASMUS-Forschungsinstitut innovative Projekte/-ideen. Während dieses Semesters erhalten Studierende die Möglichkeit in die DNA der Gemeinden/Kommunen einzutauchen. Sie lernen die Orte und deren naturräumliche Einbettung kennen, betreiben Feldforschung und können im Austausch mit Betroffenen ihre Projekte erarbeiten und in einem iterativen Prozess weiterentwickeln. Dabei wenden sie bisher erworbenes Wissen aus der Ausbildung und eignen sich neues Wissen, Fähigkeiten und Kompetenzen an. Mit ihren Projekten/Projektideen erhalten sie direkt die Chance die Zukunft des ländlichen Raumes aktiv und vor Ort mitzugestalten. Das RURASMUS - Forschungsinstitut zur Förderung neuer Perspektiven für das rurale Europa widmet sich dem Erkennen und Verbreiten prototypischer Methoden für eine zukunftsfähige Entwicklung europäischer Gemeinden. Die Umsetzung des RURASMUS-Semesters und die damit verbundene intensive und langfristige Auseinandersetzung mit den dringlichsten realweltlichen Themen und Herausforderungen des ländlichen Raumes, ist ein wesentlicher Beitrag zur positiven Entwicklung des ruralen Raumes Europas.

The Reprefred Society - Austrian 3r Center A3rc
The RepRefRed Society, the association "Gesellschaft zur Förderung von Alternativen Biomodellen", was founded on the 18th of January in 2016 by researchers from the three Austrian Medical Universities with the aim of promoting the implementation of the 3Rs (Replacement, Reduction and Refinement of animal experiments according to Russell and Burch 1959). In order to achieve this, the association focuses on the active exchange of information among researchers through topical meetings and events. The increased transparency of protocols should lead to a "refinement"(improvement of animal welfare) as well as a "reduction"(reduction of the number of animals used in experiments). The network should also help to strengthen the "replacement" of animal experiments in scientific research.

Native Quantum Computing: To propose novel image reconstruction and analysis approaches in clinically-relevant fields utilizing quantum computing approaches and noisy intermediate scale quantum (NISQ) computers. Classic-to-Quantum Transitioning: To consolidate and transition existing classical computing methodologies to the quantum computing domain in order to make them adoptable in small-qubit NISQs. Clinical Adoption: To investigate novel quantum circuit visualization principles for supporting future clinical adoption and interpretation of quantum computing applications in clinical routine.

Centre For Mobility Change
Die vom Verkehr verursachten Probleme für Mensch, Natur und Klima erfordern wirksame Lösungen. Wissenschaftliche Studien zeigen, dass mit dem Ausbau von Angeboten und neuen Technologien die gewünschten Effekte nicht erreicht werden, auch weil diese nicht wie erwartet angenommen und genutzt werden. Daher sind Änderungen des Mobilitätsverhaltens notwendig, um die Lebens- und Aufenthaltsqualität in Gemeinden und Regionen zu erhöhen und die Klimaschutzziele zu erreichen. Das 2018 gegründete CMC ist ein gefördertes Mobilitätslabor, das sich österreichweit für Mobilitätsverhaltensänderung und eine nachhaltige Transformation des Verkehrs engagiert. In den österreichischen Mobilitätslaboren können innovative Mobilitäts- und Verkehrslösungen von Wissenschaft und Unternehmen gemeinsam mit der Politik und Verwaltung, mit Kammern und Verbänden sowie mit Bürger:innen erforscht, getestet und umgesetzt werden. Das CMC als Kompetenzzentrum setzt vor allem auf Wissensaufbau, Wissensvermittlung, Beratung und Vernetzung in den Themenfeldern Mobilitätsverhaltensänderung, Digitalisierung und Tourismus. Das CMC wird federführend vom Arbeitsbereich für Intelligente Verkehrssysteme der Universität Innsbruck betrieben. Partner sind das AIT Austrian Institute of Technology, Herry Consult GmbH, em. Prof. Jens S. Dangschat sowie Quintessenz.

Cyber-Physical-Systems (CPS) provide the potential for vast economic and societal impact in domains such as automotive, health care and home automation. The open and cooperative nature of CPS poses a significant new challenge in assuring dependability. The DEIS project addresses this important and unsolved challenge by developing technologies that enable a science of dependable system integration. Such technologies facilitate the efficient synthesis of components and systems based on their dependability information. The key innovation in the approach of the DEIS project is the concept of Digital Dependability Identity (DDI). A DDI contains all the information that uniquely describes the dependability characteristics of a CPS component. DDIs are used for the integration of components into systems during development as well as for the dynamic integration of systems into systems of systems in the field.
