SPR (Research Promotion Services) is a service offered by the University of Fribourg to promote Unifr research, support researchers in guiding them through their grant application and their search for funding, as well as dispense advice on researchers' academic career. In other words, if you are a Unifr researcher, we can accompany you throughout your career, facilitating financing the research you really want to do and helping you in gaining the visibility it deserves. We are particularly well-versed in helping academics through the hurdles of European (esp. ERC) and national (esp. SNSF) funding tools, but we are used to fielding questions for other grant tools as well.

KORA, Raubtierökologie und Wildtiermanagement, ist eine in-State Stiftung mit Sitz in der Schweiz. Die Rückkehr der grossen Raubtiere in unser Land ist die letzte Phase der Rettung der einheimischen Wildtiere, deren Bestände und Lebensräume im 19. Jahrhundert durch unkontrollierte Übernutzung an einem Tiefpunkt angelangt waren. Luchs, Wolf und Bär kehren heute aber nicht in eine Wildnis zurück, sondern in eine vom Mensch dominierte Landschaft mit vielfältigen Ansprüchen verschiedenen Nutzenden. Auch die Wildkatze besiedelt in dieser Landschaft wieder geeignete Lebensräume. Der Goldschakal breitet sich zurzeit ebenfalls in Zentraleuropa aus und wurde 2011 das erste Mal in der Schweiz fotografiert. KORA erforscht die Lebensweise dieser fünf Raubtiere und überwacht die Entwicklung ihrer Populationen. KORA stellt Informationen für Behörden und die Öffentlichkeit zur Verfügung und nimmt eine beratende Funktion ein. KORA beobachtet die Auswirkung der Grossraubtiere auf unsere Kulturlandschaft und erarbeitet Grundlagen für ein konfliktarmes Zusammenleben der grossen Raubtiere mit den Menschen.

Foundation For Hand Surgery
The Foundation for Hand Surgery is a nonprofit organization dedicated to developing and improving the hand, wrist and upper limb surgery, supporting projects in medical research, scientific publication and surgery training. Our goal is to promote education and research in the hand surgery sector by establishing an interactive European center of excellence. Our mission will focus on three objectives: Education The Foundation will offer additional training opportunities for surgeons at all stages of their professional training, from the early years to the final stage of perfecting their already acquired technical skill. The aim of education program is to complement European university training courses by allowing trained, or still in-training, orthopaedic surgeons and plastic surgeons to undertake practical work on cadavers. Research We wish to devote resources to develop research axes that bring new concepts and new medical and surgical solutions for hand and wrist surgery over the next decades. The Foundation’s goal is to assist in the publication of scientific papers and to this end we propose to host researchers, statisticians, epidemiologists, surgeons, engineers, scientists, etc. to enable them to collaborate on clinical studies projects and thus facilitate the publication of their results. Financial support The Foundation will develop the creation of services of hand surgery in countries that do not have any, by providing financial resources (equipment, training, monitoring).
