Leibniz Institute For Regional Geography
The Leibniz-Institut für Länderkunde (Leibniz Institute for Regional Geography, IfL) is the only research institute for geography in Germany which is not attached to a university. The research carried out at the IfL is concerned with spatial structures and current developments that have a spatial impact in Europe, as well as with the theoretical and historical foundations of Regional Geography. Under the heading "Geographies of the regional" the researchers analyse ongoing processes, particularly in Central and Eastern Europe. An important area of the institute´s work is the presentation of research findings for specialist and more general audiences.

Max Planck Foundation For International Peace And The Rule Of Law
The Max Planck Foundation for International Peace and the Rule of Law provides assistance to countries and societies in transition or conflict. Our core areas of work include constitutional reforms, implementation of public international law, judicial reforms, legal education and research, transitional justice, and anti-corruption. The countries frequently suffer from weak and dysfunctional institutions or a legal system, which is no longer adequate for the needs of such countries. Mediation between opposing political forces, legal consulting, and capacity building activities undertaken or supported by us aim at empowering the national stakeholders, civil society, and academics to effectively engage in the necessary reshaping of the legal system of the country concerned. Peaceful change, sustainable development and the fostering of the rule of law are our core objectives. Through jointly developed and implemented projects, we assist local partners to overcome structural deficiencies, transfer knowledge and, ultimately, to increase the well-being, prosperity and personal freedom of citizens in countries around the world. In addition, we endeavour to develop innovative and effective solutions for cross-cutting challenges such as corruption, legal pluralism, the interaction between domestic and international law or the functioning of an independent judiciary, which constitute difficulties in most, if not all, of its project countries. We also carry out academic research that complements our international project work. Many research topics result from our work in the project countries. Without direct on-site access to local information research could not be carried out with the same depth and practical relevance. The National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI) has the objective to systematically index, edit, interconnect and make available the valuable stock of data from science and research. So far, these data have mostly been available in a decentralized, project-related, or temporary form. The federation and the states will fund the NFDI jointly. Digital data storage is an indispensable prerequisite for treating new research issues, generating findings, and making innovations. Share - Survey Of Health, Ageing And Retirement In Europe
The Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe (SHARE) is a research infrastructure providing data to study the effects of health, social, economic and environmental policies over the life-course of European citizens and beyond. From 2004 until today, in-depth interviews with people aged 50 or older from 28 European countries and Israel have been conducted. Thus, SHARE is the largest pan-European social science panel study that provides internationally comparable longitudinal micro data allowing insights in the fields of public health and socio-economic living conditions of European individuals. SHARE has global impact since it not only covers all EU member countries in a strictly harmonized way but additionally is embedded in a network of sister studies all over the world, from the Americas to Eastern Asia. SHARE has become a major pillar of the European Research Area. It was selected as one of the projects to be implemented in the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI) in 2006 and given a new legal status as the first ever European Research Infrastructure Consortium (ERIC) in March 2011. Since 2016 it is an ESFRI landmark. Until 2023, SHARE was coordinated at the Munich Center for the Economics of Aging (MEA), a former division of the Max Planck Institute for Social Law and Social Policy, directed by Prof. Dr. h.c. Axel Börsch-Supan, Ph.D. Since 2023, SHARE has found a home in the newly founded SHARE BERLIN Institute, in Berlin, Germany, where it is centrally coordinated.

Unser Schwerpunkt liegt auf der translationalen Forschung - also der Schnittstelle zwischen Grundlagenforschung und der klinischen Entwicklung. Neueste Ergebnisse der Grundlagenforschung sollen so auf kurzen Wegen zu neuen Therapien oder Diagnoseverfahren für Patienten führen. Und gleichzeitig suchen Grundlagenforscher nach Antworten, die die klinische Arbeit aufwirft. Ein weiterer wichtiger Baustein dieser translationalen Brücke, die wir zwischen Forschung und Praxis schlagen, sind die Genehmigungsverfahren, die für klinische Anwendungen grundsätzlich durchlaufen werden müssen. Gefördert von der Beauftragten für Kultur und Medien der Bundesregierung (BKM) werden beispielhafte Pilotprojekte begleitet und die Ergebnisse dokumentiert und kommuniziert. Als neutraler intermediärer Akteur zwischen Politik, Verwaltung und handelnden Unternehmungen wird das ANKM perspektivisch so zum One Stop Shop für den Sektor. Mit dem Ziel der Cross Innovation kann das ANKM nach der Etablierung dann als horizontale Schnittstelle zu relevanten Prozessen in Wissenschaft, Forschung, Umwelttechnik, Wirtschaftsförderung und der digitalen Startup Welt erweitert werden.
