The Leibniz Centre for Agricultural Landscape Research (ZALF) in Müncheberg is an institute part of the Leibniz Association, which was founded and is legally registered as a non-profit organisation. With about 500 employees and an annual budget of 41 Mio Euro, ZALF's mission is to deliver solutions for an economically, environmentally and socially sustainable agriculture – together with society. As a contribution to overcoming global challenges such as climate change, food security, biodiversity conservation and resource scarcity, we develop and design crop systems, integrated in their landscape contexts that combine food security with sustainability. Therefore we process complex landscape data with a unique set of experimental methods, new technologies and models as well as socio-economic approaches. Die NAKO Gesundheitsstudie ist Deutschlands größte Langzeit-Bevölkerungsstudie. In 18 Studienzentren werden seit 2014 insgesamt über zufällig ausgewählte Bürgerinnen und Bürger im Alter von 20–69 Jahren medizinisch untersucht und nach ihren Lebensgewohnheiten befragt. Ziel der Studie ist es, Ursachen von Volkskrankheiten aufzuklären, Risikofaktoren zu erkennen und Wege einer wirksamen Vorbeugung und Früherkennung aufzuzeigen. Die NAKO Gesundheitsstudie ist ein von 27 Einrichtungen getragenes, interdisziplinäres Forschungsvorhaben. Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler der Helmholtz-Gemeinschaft, den Universitäten, der Leibniz-Gemeinschaft und weiteren Forschungsinstituten in Deutschland haben sich zu einem Netzwerk zusammengeschlossen. Die Studie wird vom Verein NAKO e.V. durchgeführt. Finanziert wird Sie aus öffentlichen Mitteln des Bundesministeriums für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF), der Helmholtz-Gemeinschaft und der beteiligten Bundesländer.

Pads - Process And Data Science
The Process and Data Science Group, headed by Prof. Wil van der Aalst, is one of the research units in the Department of Computer Science of RWTH Aachen University. The scope of PADS includes all activities where discrete processes are analyzed, reengineered, and/or supported in a data-driven manner. Process-centricity is combined with an array of Data Science techniques. The group’s research and teaching activities can be characterized by the keywords: Data Science, Process Science, Process Mining, Business Process Management, Data Mining, Process Discovery, Conformance Checking, and Simulation. The group has been established in the context of the Alexander von Humboldt Professorship awarded to Prof. Wil van der Aalst in 2017. The award is Germany’s most prestigious and valuable prize for international researchers. The PADS group supports RWTH’s strategy to further strengthen its Data Science capabilities. The group also closely collaborates with the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Information Technology (FIT). Currently, the main research focus is on Process Mining (including process discovery, conformance checking, performance analysis, predictive analytics, operational support, and process improvement).
