Dr. Seibold Engineering
Dr. Seibold Engineering is an engineering service provider near Stuttgart, Germany, that specialises in aerodynamic and thermodynamic product solutions. Product development is carried out from a concept phase through initial layouts to the optimised design. Modern 3D flow simulations are applied and features worthy of protection are derived. The construction of prototypes and the validation of their function by measurements round off the portfolio. Currently, the pooleon INVISIBLE HEAT PUMP is under development as the world's first subsurface air-source heat. It elegantly disappears under the floor. Sophisticated aerodynamics make the underfloor installation of the heat pump possible, as the flow of warm supply air reaches the evaporator almost without loss and the cold exhaust air exits vertically upwards as a compact free jet without mixing with the supply air. The system is visually appealing and very quiet and thus solves the problem of sound emission into the neighbourhood. It represents a high-end solution that stands out from the competition.

Ear Research Center Dresden Ercd
The Ear Research Center Dresden (ERCD) is an interdisciplinary lab of engineers, scientists and physicians at the Clinic and Policlinic of ORL-HNS (Technische Universitaet Dresden, Faculty of Medicine) who are engaged in research of middle ear mechanics and development of therapeutic strategies for hearing impaired patients. Nearly three decades ago, our scientists were among the first to use laser Doppler Vibrometry (LDV) measurements and finite element modeling (FEM) to investigate the normal and diseased middle ear. One of the most distinguished conferences in the field, the International Symposium on Middle Ear Mechanics in Research and Otology (MEMRO) was initiated and first held here. To this day, long-lasting and close cooperation between experienced surgeons and specialized engineers is the foundation of our endeavors. This interdisciplinary work has enabled us to continuously make valuable scientific contributions to both basic and applied research.

Electrical Energy Storage Systems Ees
We at EES focus on energy related topics in the field of Battery Systems and Power to X. The research group 'Battery Systems' works among other things in the following topics: New materials of battery cells, diagnostics, state estimation, and modeling of battery cells as well as battery system engineering and development. In the research group 'Power to X' we look into electrified processes that produce value added products with a main focus on Plasma technology. Multiple challenges can be tackled using Plasma processes, from energy related topics like storing surplus renewable electricity in chemicals, to replacing conventional fossil based routes for the syngas production. The electrification of conventional processes is a corner stone in the Energiewende and especially the chemical industry faces challenges in this regard. Plasma technology can be a powerful tool to overcome some of these challenges. Therefore we are motivated to push this technology further and enable industrially relevant applications within the next years. The Electrical Energy Storage Systems (EES) department is under the direction of Prof. Birke and is part of the Institute for Photovoltaics (ipv). The EES itself is subdivided into the two described research groups Battery Systems and Power to X.

Fair Facility For Antiproton And Ion Research
In giant planets, stars, and during stellar explosions and collisions, matter is subject to extreme conditions such as very high temperatures, pressures, and densities. FAIR will enable scientists to create such conditions in the laboratory. To do so, they will bombard small samples of matter with particles. These collisions will, for very short periods of time, create cosmic matter at the tiny impact points. Imprint: Data privacy protection:

Fortee
Sign up now for the FORTEe newsletter: https://fortee-project.eu/news-and-events/subscribe-to-our-newsletter/ Cancer is the first leading cause of death from non-communicable diseases in children in Europe. Patients’ morbidity increases during cancer treatment due to physical inactivity, cancer-related fatigue, and reduced health-related quality of life. Specifically, adapted exercise training achieved remarkable effects on successful cancer treatment in adults with cancer. A similar effect has not been clearly demonstrated in children and adolescents yet. This is where FORTEe steps in to promote exercise therapy, which aims to make young patients stronger for fighting childhood cancer. This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 945153.
