Max Planck Research Unit For Neurogenetics
The sense of smell (olfaction) is designed to detect a very wide variety of chemical structures in the external environment. In the mouse, chemosensory detection at the molecular receptor level is mediated primarily by a repertoire of ~1,100 odorant receptor (OR) genes expressed in olfactory sensory neurons (OSNs) in the main olfactory epithelium. These ORs have the seven-transmembrane structure that is typical for G-protein coupled receptors. Each mature OSN is thought to express just one OR gene, and only one of the two alleles of that OR gene. Axons of OSNs that express the same OR gene terminate and coalesce into a few glomeruli, which are well-delinead anatomical structures in the olfactory bulb numbering ~3,600 in an adult mouse. What are the molecular mechanisms that enable an OSN to restrict expression of the immense OR gene repertoire to just one gene and one allele of it? What are the molecular and cellular mechanisms that enable axons of OSNs that express the same OR gene to coalesce with high precision into glomeruli? We are approaching these fundamental biological questions by genetic manipulation of the mouse.

Professorship For Green Technologies In Landscape Architecture
Following the methods and insights within the field of ‘Baubotanik’ (living plant construction), the professorship's research and teaching is driven by the aim to use biological processes and structures to develop innovative technical solutions, new approaches and typologies in architecture and landscape design, as well as to examine their spatial-aesthetic effect and technical performance. The professorship thereby connects empirical research in natural science and engineering with the design disciplines architecture, landscape design, and urban planning. It focuses on architectural concepts in which plants play a decisive role. By integrating them in a functional and creative way, this provides answers to pressing ecological issues of our time, such as the adaptation to climate change. At the same time it raises a methodological question in dealing with new aspects in the design: growth and decay, coincidence and probability. Addressing these complex issues opens up a broad field ranging from the microscopic scale, to the planning and the implementation of experimental projects on 1:1 scale, as well as to the development of concepts in the context of urban and landscape ecology.

Professorship Of Photogrammetry And Remote Sensing Tum
A warm welcome to the Professorship of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (PRS) at Technical University of Munich (TUM)! Situated at the intersection of Computer Vision, Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, our work focuses on developing algorithms for 3D reconstruction, semantic understanding and multimodal sensor fusion - from satellite and aerial Imagery to mobile and embodied sensing systems. Our mission is to create digital twins that provide photorealistic and geometrically precise representations of real-world environments. Applications range from environmental monitoring and its semantic understanding to built-environment modeling and robotic perception. We analyze multimodal data from image sequences, LiDAR, radar, and other sensor modalities to detect, reconstruct, and interpret objects and scenes across scales. Feel free to check out our website to learn more about our research. Let's shape the future of 3D perception and intelligent mapping together!

Psycontrol Lab
Psycontrol Lab is part of the Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at Philipps-Universität Marburg (Germany). We study the physics and engineering of human behavior, brain activity, and psychological dynamics to advance our understanding of psychiatric disorders. Our research integrates tools from complex systems science, network control theory, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to model the mind as a dynamic system. We aim to quantify, predict, and ultimately control behavioral and emotional processes. Using rich datasets — including mind-wandering experiments, symptom trajectories, and neuroimaging (fMRI, EEG, DTI) — we build computational models to explore memory, emotion, and mental health. We also develop novel machine learning techniques to better represent and influence complex cognitive dynamics. Our mission is to bridge fundamental science and clinical psychiatry — creating new ways to understand, monitor, and intervene in mental health.

Research Lab For Digital Innovation & Transformation
In the digital age, new and further developments in digital technologies are leading to significant changes in business and society. A key feature of a digital corporate world is that digital technologies are increasingly becoming an inherent part of products, services and business models. Companies face the challenge of making strategic decisions regarding the timely use of disruptive technologies. The goal of our Digital Innovation research area is to reduce uncertainty in the selection of technologies. In the context of both basic and applied research projects, ditlab therefore deals, for example, with the identification of relevant technologies through trend or technology potential analyses. Innovative digital technologies require the development and evaluation of new business models as well as the corresponding adaptation of the organization to these new, digital challenges. In the Digital Transformation research area, ditlab therefore deals, among other things, with the integrated alignment of existing processes and structures, application systems and data management, and the underlying infrastructure with the requirements of new customer needs and business models.

Research Training Group Rtg 2413 Synage
Our Research Training Group 2413 is an innovate research program funded by the DFG. We – 13 PhD students and their PIs – are dealing with the idea that cognitive decline in normal aging results from synaptic dysbalances. Hence, we are highly motivated to shed more light on altered synaptic proteostasis, dysfunctions of the immune system, altered functionality of the multipart synapse and changes in neuromodulation.
