Revisalt Gmbh
Glass is heavier than it needs to be. Strengthening it chemically takes hours, so it's only ever been worth doing for phone screens and other premium parts. Our fast chemical strengthening (FCS) does it in minutes. That can take up to half the weight out of a product, and it makes strong glass practical for everyday use, not just high-end niches. We also work on the part nobody talks about: the molten salt bath the process runs on. Our SaltClean material keeps that bath performing far longer and more consistently, with much less waste. ReViSalt is a spin-off of the glass institute at TU Bergakademie Freiberg, backed by the TGFS technology fund. Our goal is simple — make strong, light, low-waste glass affordable enough to use everywhere.

Simulation Of Reactive Thermo-Fluid Systems Stfs , Tu Darmstadt
At STFS, we explore innovative energy conversion processes for rapidly attaining carbon neutrality. To this end, we develop numerical models for advanced simulations on high-performance computers. Our aim is to gain a fundamental understanding of carbon-free and carbon-neutral substitutes for fossil fuels, which can help build a more sustainable future, bridging the gap between basic research and technical applications.

The Sgc Frankfurt
The Structural Genomics Consortium at the Goethe University Frankfurt (SGC Frankfurt) is focused on the development and rational design of selective inhibitors (chemical probes) targeting key signaling molecules and their use for the validation of new targets. The research team focusses on the following key areas:*Kinases: Strategies for the development of highly specific inhibitors will be focused on a) allosteric inhibitors and inhibitors targeting unique active site pockets. This approach allows us to interrogate catalytic as well as scaffolding functions of kinases exploring also catalytically inactive or weakly active pseudokinases as drug targets; b) We are also developing covalent kinase inhibitors by targeting cysteines in the proximity of the ATP binding pocket using electrophilic groups and c) we are exploring improved shape compatibility using macrocycles to generate novel and more specific kinase inhibitors targeting the active (type I) and inactive states (type II).*Inhibitors that target key enzymes and protein-protein interactions such as bromodomains modulating chromatin and epigenetic mechanisms.*Development and characterization of chemical probes targeting the ubiquitin system.*Development and characterization of chemical probes modulating autophagy including key enzymes as well as protein interactions such as conjugating enzyme as well as binding partners of autophagy modifiers (LC3/GABARAP) Kinase probes The SGC Frankfurt is also coordinating the open science probe project, a large scale initiative that makes high quality chemical probes available. These highly specific inhibitors have been developed by industry for diverse therapeutic areas but are no longer pursued as drug candidates. They offer therefore a valuable resource for basic research, target validation as well as translational studies including repurposing in other therapeutic areas The team has capacities for protein production, in vitro screening (biochemical and biophysic

Tum Chair Of Connected Mobility
The research group for Connected Mobility explores networked systems, applications, and services for mobile users. We are primarily concerned with connecting mobile users and other devices to cloud-based services, offering (autonomous) local networked services, and enabling services using ad-hoc interaction between mobiles. But our research also extends to mobility and user behavior modelling and offering services in support of (multimodal) human mobility. Our core expertise is in networked systems and services design and implementation, backed by measurements, modeling, and analysis. We build apps on (mobile) user devices, support software for (local) network infrastructure nodes and appliances, and services for the backend (in the cloud). Our research focus is on the network, transport, and application layers with the aim to ultimately provide services that run across any underlying infrastructure. But we actively embrace the characteristics of (novel) wireless link layers to connect mobile devices in our design. Meta goals of our work are devising systems, protocols, and services that are robust in their operation across different environments, are adaptive to maintain and manage user quality of experience (QoE), and protect user privacy as much as possible.

Tum Chair Of Materials Engineering Of Additive Manufacturing
The central topic of all research activities at the Chair of Materials Engineering of Additive Manufacturing is the investigation of process-structure-property relationships of metallic materials. As manufacturing and processing techniques, we focus on innovative welding methods for joining and state-of-the-art direct energy deposition processes for additive manufacturing. Multi-material components and graded material structures are a special focus and the spectrum ranges from steels to non-ferrous metals, light and heavy metals to metal-matrix composites but always with an eye on sustainability. Cross-scale material simulation, excellent characterization methods, innovative measurement and testing technology and state-of-the-art AI-supported data analysis close the circle and allow us to gain insights into materials that would otherwise remain hidden to the human eye and mind. All in all, we are thus able to deliver tailored material solutions for the most demanding applications. The chair offers numerous Bachelor's/Master's theses, semester projects and student assistant positions. Can't find a suitable topic? Unsolicited applications are always welcome! Please send your application to teaching.mat@ed.tum.de. Your documents should include the following- Your CV - Your proof of experience - A letter of motivation and a short description of your field of interest (max. 500 words) We look forward to receiving your application! Womb Lab - Women's Mental Health & Brain Function
Our research group focuses on socio-affective behavior and brain functions, with special emphasis on gender, mental health, and hormonal balance. Gender and sex hormones influence not only our health and behavior but also our brain. Therefore, our group is dedicated to investigating these effects on multiple levels (behavior, brain, psychophysiology, and hormone levels) and in relation to different competencies (ranging from emotional abilities and empathy to stress and motivation). We are particularly interested in not only brain structure but also brain activity and connectivity. Many patients with mental disorders exhibit differences and impairments in these areas, and we study the interaction of gender, hormone levels, and brain function in relation to symptoms. Additionally, we explore therapeutic interventions at both behavioral and neural levels. In our interdisciplinary group, we work with psychologists, neuroscientists, neurobiologists, psychotherapists, medical professionals, philosophers, psychosexologists, and other scientific colleagues.

Augsburg Diamond Technology Gmbh
Augsburg Diamond Technology is specialized in the synthesis of large-size single-crystal diamonds. In order to grow the oriented diamond on foreign substrates, heteroepitaxy is applied. Over the past two decades, the basis of this technology was developed at the Institute of Physics at the University of Augsburg. For the first time, these crystals are available for commercial applications. Augsburg Diamond Technology is a spin-off company of the University of Augsburg. The AuDiaTec single-crystal diamond can be used for a wide range of mechanical, optical, electrical and thermal applications. Applying chemical vapor deposition, all crystals are grown on the specially developed multilayer substrate Ir/YSZ/Si. Hence, diamond crystals with an edge length of at least 20 mm are achievable. Depending on the specific application, individual characteristics regarding transparency or shading can be offered. The virtues of the diamonds of AuDiaTec are: • Excellent homogeneity (free of joints or growth sector inhomogeneities) • Large dimensions for new applications at affordable prices • Short-term availability also for large edge lengths • Customized crystals (minimized waste during further processing by costumer) Impressum: Please contact us, if you need special advice regarding the virtues and expanded fields of application of our new material!
