El IUISI fue creado por la firma del convenio de colaboración entre el Ministerio del Interior, la Dirección General de la Guardia Civil y la Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia, el 17 de octubre de 2002. Los objetivos generales que se pretenden conseguir con la creación del Instituto en relación con la seguridad son: Promover la cultura de seguridad. Desarrollar y promover la investigación científica de alta calidad en materias de seguridad que sean de interés para instituciones públicas y privadas. Fomentar el acceso de miembros de la Guardia Civil a titulos oficiales de primer y segundo ciclo, y de posgrado. Desarrollar cursos de altos estudios profesionales, así como la ejecución de programas Master y cualesquiera cursos de especialización, presenciales y a distancia, en los diferentes campos de la seguridad, sin perjuicio de su consideración como enseñanzas regladas de tercer ciclo o postgrado. Impulsar y promover la difusión de obras científicas. Crear un marco de reflexión y diálogo. Promover el conocimiento y aplicación de las nuevas tecnologías al ámbito de la seguridad pública.

Mats-Materials Technology And Sustainability, Universitat De Valencia
El Grupo de Investigación en Tecnología de Materiales y Sostenibilidad (MATS) del Departamento de Ingeniería Química de la Universitat de València centra su actividad investigadora en el diseño, desarrollo, caracterización y validación de tecnologías de preparación y funcionalización de materiales con carácter multisectorial, y con enfoque de sostenibilidad dentro del concepto de economía circular. Las líneas de trabajo de MATS comprenden:(i) el desarrollo de tecnologías de obtención y funcionalización de (nano/micro) fibras y films poliméricos, composites e híbridos, y transferencia a los sectores industriales basados en tecnología de membranas: tratamiento de efluentes, envase y embalaje o biomedicina, entre otros;(ii) la investigación de la correlación entre las propiedades físico-químicas de los materiales poliméricos e híbridos y sus prestaciones en condiciones de servicio, estabilidad y degradación, orientadas a la reingeniería del la evaluación de las alternativas de valorización material, química, energética y biológica de los residuos de origen plástico, bajo el concepto de economía circular y aprovechamiento de los biorecursos;(iv) el desarrollo de técnicas de reacción avanzada mediante fluidos supercríticos o disolventes emergentes para la obtención de polímeros de interés;(v) el diseño de dispositivos de validación de tecnología de membranas para tratamiento de efluentes líquidos y gaseosos;(vi) la aplicación de biorefinerías de residuos lignocelulósicos para la obtención de materiales compuestos funcionales.

Borg Barcelona Osseointegration Research Group
BORG o Barcelona Osseointegration Research Group, es un grupo centrado en la investigación y divulgación de la implantología oral y sus diversas aplicaciones clínicas. El Borg se gestó a principios de 2005 cuando cuatro doctores especializados en implantología oral establecieron un protocolo común con sus propios resultados para demostrar que en los casos en que el diámetro del pilar era inferior al diámetro del implante, la pérdida ósea era ostensiblemente menor, y así surgió el artículo 'Benefits of an Implant Platform Modification Technique to Reduce Crestal Bone Resorption' que fue publicado en Implant Dentistry en 2006. Desde entonces hasta hoy hemos realizado numerosas conferencias, nacionales e internacionales y hemos elaborado o colaborado en numerosas publicaciones. Nos gusta nuestro trabajo, y nos gusta compartirlo y mostrártelo.

Cenit - Innovation Unit In Transport At Cimne
The Centre for Innovation in Transport (CENIT) was established in 2001 as the first research center on transportation created in Spain. CENIT is focused on finding sustainable and innovative solutions for urban transportation and mobility. We specialize in research, development and technology transfer projects using big data and econometric analysis. The primary activity developed at CENIT is generating knowledge in transport, logistics and mobility, and its transmission to society through research, education and technology transfer, encompassing different areas of economy and transport engineering, while always trying to focus its research on social agents’ demands in specific lines of work, and especially with notable references to freight transport. With a wealth of experience from partnerships in our home city of Barcelona, Spain, we have proven expertise in the fields of transport economy, including transport economics, mobility and urban transport, travel behaviour, urban freight distribution, electro mobility, traffic modelling, demand analysis, port terminal operations and port management. The multidisciplinary, scientific, and systematic approach allows us to quantitatively analyze transport elements relating to service, behaviour, perception, functionality, sustainability, management, quality, reliability, risk and safety. CENIT is the transport specialist research group of The International Centre for Numerical Methods in Engineering (CIMNE)- a research organization created in 1987 as a public consortium between the Regional Government of Catalonia and the UPC, in cooperation with UNESCO and accredited as a center of excellence “Severo Ochoa” since 2019.

The Spanish Biomedical Research Centre in Diabetes and Associated Metabolic Disorders (Ciberdem) is a public state consortium established by the Carlos Health Institute (Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness). Constituted by 31 elite research groups in 19 associate institutions, it represents the biggest network of scientific diabetes research in Spain. Its objectives are to lead highest standards of research practice and to accelerate the translation of scientific results into clinical application. Fundación para la Investigación del Clima,(FIC, is an independent non-profit organization founded in Spain in 1996. Its purpose is to improve adaptation to climate change through research and capacity building. FIC's activities have been focused on future climate simulation (statistical downscaling); the assessment of future climate influence on several sectors (agriculture/food security, biodiversity, hidrology.) in collaboration with experts from each sector; the communication of research results; and capoacity building. After almost 20 years of research, FIC developed one of the most powerful statistical downscaling tools for generating local climate scenarios: FICLIMA - La Fundación para la investigación del Clima,(FIC, es una organización independiente sin ánimo de lucro fundada en España en 1996. Su propósito es mejorar la adaptación al cambio climático a través de la investigación y el fortalecimiento de capacidades. Las actividades del FIC se han centrado en la simulación de clima futuro (regionalización estadística); la evaluación de impacto del cambio climático sobre diversos sectores (agricultura /seguridad alimentaria, biodiversidad, hidrología.) en colaboración con expertos de cada sector; la comunicación de los resultados de investigación; y el fortalecimiento de capacidades.
