Inaf-Osservatorio Astrofisico Di Torino
La tradizione fa risalire l'origine dell'Osservatorio Astronomico di Torino al 1759, quando il re Vittorio Amedeo di Savoia diede a Giovanni Battista Beccaria l'incarico di determinare l'arco di meridiano locale, ovvero il "Gradus Taurinensis". Gli strumenti astronomici usati per queste misure diventarono il primo nucleo dell'Osservatorio, che a quel tempo era situato in un palazzo nel centro della città. Vi rimase fino al 1912, quando venne spostato sulla collina di Pino Torinese. La scuola astronomica di Torino inizio con lo studio della meccanica celeste formulata da Joseph Louis Lagrange, che fondò l'Accademia delle Scienze di Torino. L'Astrometria classica, la Geodesia e la Planetologia costituirono il principale campo di attività astronomico a Torino per molto tempo, fino al 20° secolo. Nel 1759 padre Giovanni Battista Beccaria (1716-1781) approfittò del passaggio di una cometa per far conoscere al re Carlo Emanuele la sua esperienza in campo astronomico. Questa sua iniziativa gli consentì di ottenere dal re l'incarico di misurare l'arco del meridiano di Torino. Per poter portare a termine il suo lavoro, che durò dal 1760 al 1774 (1), il re gli fece preparare un punto di osservazione su una torretta di Via Po, dove il Beccaria sistemò gli strumenti che gli servivano per la misurazione del Gradus,<> La prima Specola fu invece costruita 30 anni dopo. In occasione della sua visita all'Accademia delle Scienze il 28 giugno 1789 il re Vittorio Amedeo amante e cultore delle scienze esatte, decise di far costruire sul tetto del Palazzo del Collegio dei Nobili, dove aveva sede l'Accademia. Kunsthistorisches Institut In Florenz Max-Planck-Institut
The Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florenz is one of the oldest research institutions dedicated to the History of Art and Architecture in Italy, where facets of European, Mediterranean and global history are investigated. Founded in 1897 on the private initiative of a group of independent scholars, it has been under the auspices of the Max Planck Society since 2002. Approximately seventy scholars are currently employed at the Institute, which is run by two directors, and the promotion of international young academics is high on its internal agenda. In addition to numerous individual research projects, those funded by third parties and a multiplicity of international collaborations with universities, museums and research institutes, the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florenz provides a platform for larger long- and medium-term projects whose subject matter ranges from Late Antiquity to the Modern Age. The Institute's resources, including the library with over volumes, some of which are extremely rare, over 1,070 ongoing journal subscriptions, and one of the most wide-ranging photographic libraries on Italian art, are placed at the disposal of researchers from all over the world. With its programme of public academic events and up to 100 visitors daily, the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florenz is a unique institution for international and interdisciplinary academic exchange.

Laimburg Research Centre
Laimburg Research Centre, founded in 1975, is the research centre for agriculture and food quality in South Tyrol. Through scientifically conducted experimentation and research, we create know-how, develop solutions and realise innovations for agriculture and food processing. With our research, we ensure the cultivation and production of high-quality agricultural products in South Tyrol and cover the entire food production chain, from cultivation to the finished product. In the mountainous areas of the region, our applied research helps to support and promote the variety of local crops. In this way, we make a concrete contribution to the development of local farms. The programme of activities is drawn up and defined annually together with representatives of the local agriculture and food processing area. This ensures that our experimentation and research activities are geared to the concrete needs of the farming community. Megaride - Applied Vehicle Research
The growing need of reliable vehicle simulations for safety and performance improvement is leading academy and industry to carry out researches aimed at proposing innovative solutions able to guarantee the achievement of real-time, robust and predictive physical vehicle and tire models. MegaRide project is tightly linked to the activities carried out by the Vehicle Dynamics research group of the Department of Industrial Engineering (DII) of University of Naples Federico II, whose expertise is oriented to the development of models and procedures to be employed by vehicle manufacturers, tire developers, dynamicists and race engineers. MegaRide’s core is made of people working in a synergic environment involving both academic and industrial realities. The team diverse experiences and careers have been characterized by deep cooperation with high-profile companies and research centres. Services and products provided by MegaRide are based on an already thriving trade, structured thanks to many years of research partnerships between the research group and relevant automotive realities. MegaRide was born as a natural outcome project, thought to confer the proper value to the products of the Italian scientific research and to reinforce the still unexpressed potential of valuable academic realities. The company headquarter has been set in the Mechanics building of the Department of Industrial Engineering, where the UniNa Tyre Lab is located, in order optimize the information transfer and the logistics operations between the two institutions. At the current stage MegaRide has received, after a demanding evaluation process, the approval of the University of Naples committee for the official Spin-Off recognition.
