Safer Vehicle And Traffic Safety Centre At Chalmers
SAFER Vehicle and Traffic Safety Centre at Chalmers is a collaborative platform for research and knowledge exchange where partners from society, academia and industry acquire and share knowledge to make significant contributions to a safer road transport environment for all. SAFER was crafted to facilitate collaborative research and knowledge-building endeavours among the partners, all aimed at achieving Vision Zero and tackling the complex traffic safety challenges of today and tomorrow, far beyond what a single actor can accomplish. The SAFER environment sparks research ideas through its diverse set of networking activities, usually resulting in national, bilateral or European funded research projects feeding back knowledge to the community. SAFER is the go-to hub in Sweden for being up to date on various aspects of road transport safety including research, and it is an excellent networking arena with participation from renowned road transport safety experts and researchers. Strong collaboration across different stakeholders is the required path towards zero fatalities and seriously injuries.

Wasp Wallenberg Ai, Autonomous Systems And Software Program
The Wallenberg Artificial Intelligence, Autonomous Systems and Software Program (WASP) is a major national initiative for strategically motivated basic research, education and faculty recruitment in artificial intelligence, autonomous systems and software development. The ambition is to advance Sweden into an internationally recognized and leading position in these areas. WASP is built upon close association with Chalmers University of Technology, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Linköping University, Lund University and Umeå University. In addition WASP collaborates with Örebro University and Uppsala University when it comes to research within AI/MLX and AI/Mathematics respectively. WASP will strengthen, expand, and renew the national competence through new strategic recruitments, a challenging research program, a national graduate school, and collaboration with industry. Center For Bionics And Pain Research
The Center for Bionics and Pain Research (CBPR) was founded in 2020 by Prof. Max Ortiz Catalan thanks to generous donations from the Promobilia Foundation and the IngaBritt and Arne Lundberg Research Foundation. The core of our engineering group was previously known as the Biomechatronics and Neurorehabilitation Laboratory (ChalmersBNL), which then grew into CBPR by incorporating medical researchers. Since 2024, our core research continues at NeuroBioniX in Melbourne, Australia.

I 29 lägenheter utrustade med mätstationer och sensorer lever boende i en föränderlig byggnad där väggar, fasader och inredning utvecklas efterhand som forskningen fortskrider. HSB Living Lab är ett samarbete mellan näringsliv, stad och akademi. En världsunik och öppen arena för att skapa framtidens hållbara boendemiljöer. MetaSAFE is a company specialised in the profiling and identification of drug metabolites in the preclinical and clinical stages of drug development with expertise in the biological fate of drugs and safety of their metabolites. We utilise U/HPLC and high resolution mass spectrometry with and without radiomonitoring utilising samples from preclinical and clinical studies. User - Uppsala Smart Energy Research Group
The Uppsala Smart Energy Research Group (USER) is highly interdisciplinary, combining applied and theoretical, as well as qualitative and quantitative, approaches. The group is engaged in extensive collaborations with industry and other academic institutions. USER’s overarching goal is to understand and enhance the role of electricity users can play in realizing the energy transition. The research primarily focuses on user behavior and the socio-technical perspectives of demand flexibility, but also addresses decentralized production, storage, electric vehicles and smart grids. The research group’s foundational funding comes from the STandUP for Energy program, part of the Swedish government’s initiative in the strategic energy research area. Additional funders are presented in connection with the descriptions of individual research projects.

WACQT-IP AB is a spin-out company from the WACQT research programme. WACQT-IP AB shall protect early technology steps in quantum technology via patenting, • build up a patent portfolio in quantum technology, and • commercialize via spin-off companies, licensing and divestments. WACQT-IP was established by the Wallenberg company Navigare Ventures AB, Chalmers Holding AB and WACQT researchers. The researchers established WACQT Researcher AB, which holds 70% of the shares in WACQT-IP AB. The activities in WACQT-IP is funded through shareholders contributions from Navigare Ventures AB and Chalmers Holding.

Alterfor
The project ALTERFOR examines alternative forest management models (FMMs) currently in use and the potential to optimize them for use in different European countries. Scientists and forestry practitioners will examine alternative FMMs in case study areas in Germany, Italy, Ireland, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia, Sweden, and Turkey. The main goal of ALTERFOR is to provide improved and new approaches in forest management that are robust enough to address the challenges of the 21st century, like the uncertainties of climate change, the complex dynamics of evolving global markets or the pressures for increased use of bioenergy. ALTERFOR is a large-scale, collaborative research project funded under the EU’s Horizon 2020 research programme, coordinated by the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), and involves twenty organisations from nine countries.

Create Health - Translational Cancer Center
CREATE Health is a Strategic Centre for Translational Cancer research mainly located at Medicon Village in Lund. CREATE Health aims to provide individualized and improved therapeutic strategies, based on our ability to determine which patient will benefit from a particular treatment. CREATE Health provides solutions to clinical problems by developing innovative diagnostic and therapeutic ideas, for the benefit of the patients and society. Our approach is translational - It starts from a specific need, identified by our clinical partners. We use novel technological approaches to find the relevant solutions, which can be implemented into the clinic with much shorter lead times. In 2025, CREATE Health Translational Cancer Center received a donation from the Mrs Berta Kamprad’s Cancer Foundation of 420 million SEK. This is the single largest donation to Lund University, since its founding in The funds are distributed over a five-year period and dedicated to translational cancer research within the L2CancerBridge program. Other main funding has been provided by the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research, Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation and VINNOVA. By integrating clinicians and researchers from Lund University Hospital with researchers from the Faculties of Medicine, Natural Sciences and Engineering using a superbly equipped and integrated “omics” platform, concentrated in a single area, a centre unique in its kind has been created. The vision of CREATE Health is to use an integrative approach to develop novel diagnostics and therapeutics, based on identified markers and molecular signatures and to create a substantial social impact for the patient, through direct application of research for selection of an optimal, individually-based, cancer treatment.

DREEAM stands for Demonstrating an integrated Renovation approach for Energy Efficiency At the Multi-building scale. DREEAM is a project funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme. The core of DREEAM is to identify optimal combinations of technologies to support housing companies and cities in scaling up their renovation ambitions. It aims to show that renovating at a larger scale opens the opportunity for a better integration of renewable energies and is generally more cost-effective: technologies become cheaper per unit and smart energy management systems work best in connected systems. Energy efficient renovations in the building sector are key to reducing energy consumption in the coming years: DREEAM demonstrates that a multi-building and single-owner renovation approach can achieve up to 75% reduction of total energy demand. Our integrated approach offers- Strategic decision support for INVESTMENT PLANNING, integrating sustainability goals into long-term financial strategies- RENOVATION DESIGN tool “Key DREEAM innovation” that allows online access designs for multibuilding projects and optimized nZEB renovation- Technical QUALITY ASSURANCE supervision during renovation works with tailor-made plans and 3 supervision visits- Detailed ENERGY CONSUMPTION ANALYSIS & monitoring throughout the renovation process- TENANT ENGAGEMENT before & after renovation, including validation of planned renovation and coaching on energy saving.
