Lri Enregat Institute Of Environmental Technology
Research infrastructure ENREGAT - ENergy waste REcovery and GAs Treatment is located at the Institute of Environmental Technology (CEET, VSB-TUO) and offers access to the facilities and technological units focused on energy recovery of waste and off-gases treatment and cleaning. ENREGAT represents a unique base for the comprehensive research of of combustion, thermochemical processes and anaerobic digestion of waste materials, as well as the catalytic, sorption and photocatalytic cleaning and membrane separation of the resulting gases. In addition, ENREGAT also allows research in related areas and provides complex analytical services. The uniqueness of ENREGAT infrastructure lies in the ability to perform basic and applied research focused on several waste-to-energy technologies from the laboratory up to pilot plant scale for a wide range of waste and thus to assess the suitability of the technology for the selected type of waste. Additionally, it allows research on a number of technologies for the abatement of different gaseous pollutants (e.g. nitrogen oxides, carbon dioxide, organic substances) through laboratory tests up to pilot scale verification for waste incineration, which is available here. Large research infrastructure ENREGAT was included to the Czech Roadmap of Large Infrastructures for Research, Development and Innovation from January 2019. Thanks to the targeted support from the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (project No. LM2023056), ENREGAT infrastructure is available in open access free of charge for wide scientific community. Enterprises and commercial customers can use ENREGAT in collaborative or contractual research mode.

Institute Of Inorganic Chemistry Of The Czech Academy Of Sciences
The scientific activity of the Institute is focused on various aspects of inorganic chemistry. Inorganic chemistry is developing dynamically and its influence is increasing to other areas of natural sciences, such as material, physical, bio and environmental sciences, and others. Our knowledge of synthetic methods, photochemistry, solid state analysis, analytical and quantum chemistry, catalysis and other areas of chemistry enables us to actively work on a number of multidisciplinary projects. We discover new molecules, nanomaterials, or materials with specific properties such as luminescence, optical, sorption, catalytic and others. These products offer a wide range of applications, including the removal of toxic substances and construction of bactericidal surfaces, components of sensors or lasers, effective catalysis, or potential in diagnostics and therapy in medicine. Our chemical view also contributes to the development of geosciences and makes it possible to evaluate artworks in terms of their origin, age, and provenance. Thus, our scientific work results in many applications. For all this, we utilize the quality instrument infrastructure of the Institute. Researchers of the Institute train undergraduate and doctoral students, supervise their theses, and participate in teaching at universities.

Cefres
Founded in Prague in 1991, CEFRES–French Research Center in Humanities and Social Sciences–aimed at restarting the scientific exchanges between France and Central Europe as it underwent major changes after the fall of communism. One of CEFRES’s tasks since then has been to build up a network of research teams between France, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia. A part of the network of French Research Institutes Abroad (IFRE, it became a mixed service and research unit–USR 3138–in 2007. CEFRES is therefore under the tutelage of both the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs (MEAE) and of the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS). Its scientific board gathers once a year. Thanks to the cooperation agreement signed on 21 November 2014 between the Embassy of France in the Czech Republic, the CNRS, the Charles University of Prague and the Czech Academy of Sciences, CEFRES is now sharing with these two Czech partners a French-Czech cooperation platform in the humanities and social sciences named “CEFRES Platform”. As a sign of its anchorage within the Czech scientific milieu, the Center has moved in December 2015 in the buildings of the Academy of Sciences at Na Florenci 3. With its networks in France and Central Europe, CEFRES develops its own scientific policy revolving around three transversal research areas. They serve as a framework for research topics that are not limited to the field of Central Europe, as shown by current and past projects. These research priorities originate from the discussions, which unfolded at the Research Forum in the Czech Republic organized by the CEFRES Platform in April-May 2015. CEFRES supports researchers’ mobility from France and the Visegrad countries. It hosts a team of young researchers and of statutory researchers, whose projects fit in its general scientific policy.
