IERI is a collaborative effort between the Research & Development Division at ETS and the IEA Data Processing and Research Center that focuses on improving the science of large-scale assessments. IERI undertakes activities around three broad areas of work that include research studies related to the development and implementation of large-scale assessments; professional development and training; and dissemination of research findings and information gathered through large-scale assessments. IERI undertakes research activities that address issues surrounding large-scale assessments such as IEA-TIMSS, IEA-PIRLS, OECD-PISA, US-NAEP, IALS, ALL, etc. The label “virtual” is attached to the research area to emphasize that the research projects are hosted in the funding institutions, but are facilitated by Web-based collaboration as well as by the shared joint expertise of researchers involved in work on large-scale assessments. The aim of this virtual research area is to contribute to the science of large-scale assessments so that the best available information is provided to policy makers and researchers from around the world.

Incentives And Economics Of Data Sharing Ieds

Ziel des Projektes »Incentives and Economics of Data Sharing – IEDS« ist es, die Ausgestaltung von Anreizsystemen für das Teilen von Daten im unternehmerischen Kontext zu untersuchen. Dazu wird das Thema Data Sharing aus unterschiedlichen Perspektiven, wie technischen und ökonomischen, analysiert. Konkret sollen Erkenntnisse erlangt und Mechanismen entwickelt werden, wie Anreize für Organisationen gesetzt werden können, um an offenen und kollaborativen Datennetzwerken teilzunehmen. Innovationen finden vermehrt in kollaborativen Netzwerken statt. Jedoch kommen bei der Entstehung von datenbasierten Netzwerken verschiedene Herausforderungen auf. Neben Lösungen für gesetzliche und sicherheitsrelevante Herausforderungen in Bezug auf den unternehmensübergreifenden Datenaustausch, bedarf es ebenfalls Ansätzen, um Anreize für die unterschiedlichen Akteure zu schaffen, an diesen Netzwerken teilzunehmen. Solche Anreize sind notwendig, um der strategischen Bedeutung von Daten für Deutschland und Europa gerecht zu werden und Unternehmen zu befähigen an relevanten Initiativen, wie bspw. GAIA-X, erfolgreich teilzunehmen. Research for Human and Nature The statute purpose of the Institute for Biodiversity founded in 1990 is the production, application and dissemination of scientific findings, which have as a goal retaining, re-establishing the sustainable and fair-distribution use of biological diversity. The Institute is overall active in the area of biodiversity research. To fulfil the association's purpose, the ibn among other things undertake research work and compiles concepts and appraisals from the application of international and national legislation. The Institute co-ordinates a network of experts, who are professionally active with the analysis, planning and implementation of biodiversity related tasks. When working on projects and on R&D undertakings, the ibn uses the standart of good scientific practice (german) and ensures a maximum of quality control and evaluation of results (as recognised by the German Research Council). Overview of the work areas and the structure of ibn Already in the development phase of the Convention over Biological Diversity, the ibn was concerned with the "Convention on Biological Diversity"(CBD). The ibn participated in all conferences of the Contracting Parties and in all meetings of the Scientific Advisery Body of the CBD. During its regular participation in SBSTTA and COP meetings of the CBD serving on the German delegation and as observer. Since its founding, the ibn is a member of the working group of the German clearing-house mechanism and represents there the working group Biodiv of the Forum for Environment and Development. The ibn participated in the founding process of the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services and has attended all meetings of the platform. Further, the ibn contributes to capacity building in the IPBES process as well as to the uptake of the results of IPBES assessments. The ibn is also observer to other biodiversity relevant conventions such as the UNCCD and the
