Grial Research Group

The Research GRoup on InterAction and eLearning (GRIAL) at the University of Salamanca emerged in 2006 as a result of the union of three distinct research areas. Such research fields (Computer Engineering, Education and Communication Theory) find in this context a remarkable complementarity and produce, as a consequence of their respective synergies, seven lines of research closely related in a transversal way. These areas are Interactive Learning Systems, Learning Technologies, Web Engineering and Software Architecture, Online Learning Methodology, Quality and Evaluation in Education, Communication Theory and Strategic Knowledge and Technology Management. These lines of research give rise to the development of a large number of research projects, both national and international. The most relevant of them are described in these pages. Finally, GRIAL carries out excellent transfer activities whose main lines are illustrated in the last paragraph of this article. La visión del INSTITUTO CUANTICO de LA CONSCIENCIA es proporcionar a la sociedad información científica, útil y práctica de que es la consciencia y de como a través de su comprensión mediante diferentes métodos - disciplinas - terapias, poder articular herramientas prácticas, medibles, útiles y sencillas en la vida de las personas con la finalidad de aumentar su felicidad a través de ser mas conscientes de lo que somos. Vivimos en una sociedad condicionada por un movimiento determinista científico en el cual en base a unos axiomas teóricos nos determinan como seres separados del todo, considerando a la persona como un ser separado de la totalidad. Una sociedad que empodera el ego hasta un nivel enfermizo, considerándonos el centro del todo el universo, sin ninguna vinculación con el entorno que nos rodea. Esta no relación con la totalidad, determina que se construya una relación psicológica con nuestro entorno, en la cual los demás ( lo externo ) son los culpables siempre de todo y nosotros somos las víctimas. La psiquis se auto engaña en una relación de autodefensa y de regresión sobre nosotros mismos. Esto nos lleva a la potenciación máxima del ego, provocando situaciones de mucho estrés y ansiedad, que derivan en graves situaciones de naturaleza biológica y psíquica. Esta situación es totalmente evitable, si en lugar de pensar en términos de separatividad, pensamos en términos de interconexión, considerándonos aspectos de la consciencia interconectados ( interser ) en un fluir constante de consciencia entre nosotros ( a dentro ) y la totalidad que nos rodea ( el afuera ) de la cual formamos parte y a la cual damos forma constantemente a través de una inteligencia creativa en forma de un orden implicado que nos permite desplegarlo en forma de un orden explicado, dando lugar a nuestra realidad. Es un proceso de retroalimentación constante sin principio ni final. Por lo tanto, podemos afirmar que todo esta conectado en un universo participativo.

In order to ingrain these innovations and to have long-term effects, itdUPM designs and develops jointly actions in which public administrations, NGO’s, business industries and international organizations collaborate side by side.

The main goal of Knowledge Engineering and Machine Learning Group (KEMLG) is the analysis, design, implementation and application of several Artificial Intelligence techniques, to support the operation or behaviour analysis of real-world complex systems or domains. The research is focused on the analysis, design, management or supervision of these domains, such as in the health and medical field, in environmental processes and systems, and in the industrial and enterprise sector.

Lemur Research Group

LEMUR is a multidisciplinary research team with researchers belonging to different knowledge areas: Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, and Automation and Control Engineering. The strength is based on looking for synergies and knowledge integration among team members in order to apply for bigger and complex research projects. Our vision is to integrate in a laboratory an environment for testing of small scale distributed energy systems and their integration into the electrical grid. For the study and analysis, a four-level approach is proposed-> Development of generation systems and power converters for the injection of electrical energy into the grid-> Development of energy storage systems for the compensation of transient demands at the electrical grid-> Development of coordinated control strategies for all the small scale generators installed at the grid-> Study of new economic and infrastructure models relying on the distributed generation. Our research lines include: 1 - Analysis and Design of power converter topologies for energy storage: Design of power electronics converters with an emphasis of multiport topologies for energy storage applications. 2 - Dynamic Analysis and Control of power converters for distributed resources: High dynamic performance of power converters and microgrids by advanced control systems. 3 - Power flow analysis for hybrid DC/AC grids with high penetration of distributed resources: Impact of the integration of distributed resources in the electrical grid. 4 - Energy demand analysis and visualization: Analytic tools and visualization strategies for energy planning. 5 - Industrial applications and knowledge transfer. We collaborate in different research projects both nationally and internationally with companies, universities, and research institutions.

The Laboratory of Chemical and Environmental Engineering (LEQUIA) is a research group of the University of Girona (UdG) devoted to the development of eco-innovative water solutions. LEQUIA is a “consolidated research group” recognised by the Catalan Government (2021-SGR-1352) and a member of TECNIO, a network that brings together leading experts in applied research and technology transfer in Catalonia. The group is part of the UdG’s Institute of the Environment (IMA). Research lines are: 1) Innovative processes of potabilization and water treatment; 2) Gas treatment and carbon dioxide bioconversion; and 3) Digitalisation and application of artificial intelligence to water cycle.

We are a research group from University of Oviedo with more than 30 years of experience in power electronics. We have a strong commitment in transferring knowledge from academia to industry as well as to educate future researchers within different PhD, MSc and BSc programs in power electronics. Our research lines are: 1. Ac-dc single-phase power factor correction power converters. Ac-dc three-phase rectifiers. LED drivers. Dc-dc power converters with extremely fast response for Envelope Tracking and Visual Light Communications. Bidirectional dc-dc power converters for BEV and HEV. High voltage dc-dc and ac-dc power converters for electric aircraft. Modular dc-dc power converters for aerospace applications. Ac-dc and dc-dc power supplies for audio applications. We intensively collaborate with national and international companies in the frame of R&D private projects and with other research institutions and universities with public funded R&D projects.

Ucm Research Group On Agent-Based Social And Interdisciplinary Applications Ucm-Grasia

The Grasia! research group of the Universidad Complutense Madrid (UCM) considers agent technology from a multi-disciplinary perspective, joining experts from the fields of Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, and Sociology. It promotes applied research by considering the agent paradigm as a key element for building distributed intelligent applications and for the analysis of complex systems. The research is structured along three main lines:* Agent oriented software engineering. This intends to support developers on building applications as multi-agent systems. The main results are the INGENIAS methodology and the INGENIAS Development Kit (IDK) toolset, which have been applied in a variety of applications (intelligent interfaces, business process management, web site personalization, resource planning and monitoring, ubiquitous computing and ambience intelligence).* Information Retrieval. Multi-agent systems can assist users to manage information on the web in a personalized way. We are specially involved in tools for technology watch.* Social simulation. Although there are powerful tools for agent based simulation of complex systems, they require good skills in programming. We try to leverage this difficulty by providing new tools for working with graphical models, which are adapted to concrete domains in Social Sciences.

BDN Lab aloja en una antigua nave industrial reformada un fab lab y el mayor espacio coworking de Badalona. El fab lab es un entorno de fabricación digital y aprendizaje de base tecnológica donde se agrupan impresoras 3D, escáneres 3D, plóter de corte de vinilo, impresora digital, máquina de corte y grabado láser y una fresadora CNC, dispositivos que permiten realizar casi cualquier tipo de proyecto. El espacio coworking, de 300 m2, ocupa la planta superior de la nave y reúne todo lo necesario para que puedas establecer tu centro de operaciones: amplios puestos de trabajo, cajoneras propias, taquillas, wifi y cable (fibra óptica simétrica), cocina-office, servicio de copistería (escáner, impresora en red y fotocopiadora), skype booth, domiciliación virtual de empresa, sala de reuniones e incluso ducha. Todo ello, a escasos metros del paseo marítimo, del puerto deportivo de la ciudad, del metro y de la estación de tren.

Institute Of Evolutionary Biology Csic-Universitat Pompeu Fabra

Evolutionary biology aims at studying the processes and mechanisms generating biodiversity. After the Human Genome project, the description and comprehension of biodiversity is one of the most important scientific challenges of the XXI century, and coping to this challenge requires the methods and concepts of evolutionary biology. In particular, we need to understand the genetic basis of the difference among species (divergence) as well as within every species (variation, polymorphism), paying special attention at how differences are fixed and how are distributed, transmitted, maintained and how they interact with the environment. The description of genomes and the understanding of genomic differences in organisms are of paramount importance to understand the basic mechanisms of life and to place biodiversity into a robust evolutionary frame. The general objective of the IBE is to work on these contexts using all the available new tools, experimental and computational, to understand the basic functioning of life, to describe and put in context their diversity, to unveil the mechanisms generating biological innovations and evolutionary changes and, finally, to preserve biodiversity and to promote its use in a sustainable way. In particular, the basis of the IBE, and its main peculiarity, is the capacity to face biodiversity studies describing genomic and functional evolution at any observational scale: molecular, biochemical, physiological or morphological. The IBE aims at becoming an international reference in these subjects. The Institute of Evolutionary Biology (Institut de Biologia Evolutiva, IBE) is joint center of the Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC) and the University Pompeu Fabra.
