ITFLOWS is funded by the EU's Horizon 2020 funding programme and will generate novel insights on migration. The purpose of ITFLOWS is to provide accurate predictions and adequate management solutions of migration flows in the European Union in the phases of reception, relocation, settlement and integration of migration, according to a wide range of human factors and using multiple sources of information. These insights will be provided by an evidence-based ICT enabled solution (the EUMigraTool) and precise models. All solutions will have fitness for purpose continually validated by policy-makers and practitioners in cooperation with civil-society organisations in a dynamic and iterative process.

In its compromise to improve, divulge and collaborate with the Robotics and Artificial Intelligence community at European level, ITRB Labs is part of the European Robotics Technology Platform, the European Alliance for Innovation and the Spanish Robotics Technology Platform.

Move Project 2018

MOVE pilot project intends to involve policy makers, researchers and the civil society in the development of methodologies for mapping and assessing the state of ecosystems and their services in ORs and OCTs. A coordinated and synergistic approach is advocated to turn the geographical, political and knowledge base fragmentation of these entities into assets, pooling resources and building robust participatory tools. The project will start by assessing the state of the art of the MAES (Mapping and Assessing Ecosystem Services) exercise within the participating overseas regions, and by inventorying and motivating the human and material capacities present in each of them. It will then choose as case studies 4 specific regions and a particular contribution on which to focus the work of a dedicated team of local experts, policy makers and civil society members, pooled from across the OR and OCTs. In addition to producing a tangible contribution for the MAES exercise, this project aims to demonstrate the possibility and the added value of a bottom-up approach, involving and capacitating local actors.

FAIR4Health is a research project funded by the European Commission through the Horizon 2020 Research Programme under the topic “Science with and for Society SwafS-04-2018: Encouraging the re-use of research data generated by publically funded research projects”. This project is coordinated by Virgen del Rocío University Hospital of the Andalusian Health Service (SAS) accounting with seventeen partners from eleven EU and non-EU countries (Spain, Portugal, Italy, UK, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Netherlands, Belgium, Serbia, and Turkey). The consortium is composed by 6 health research organizations, 2 universities internationally recognized as experts in data management, 2 universities and 2 institutes with a strong background on medical informatics, and 5 business actors. The project officially started on the 1st of December 2018 and will be running for 3 years. FAIR4Health consortium joins forces to facilitate and encourage the EU Health Research community to share and reuse their datasets derived from publically funded research initiatives by applying the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable); through the demonstration of the potential impact that such strategy will have on health outcomes and health research. In this sense, FAIR4Health will apply privacy-preserving distributed data mining techniques over the shared datasets to develop 2 pathfinder case studies:(i) supporting the discovery of disease onset triggers and disease association patterns in comorbid patients, and (ii) a prediction service for 30-days readmission risk in complex chronic patients. FAIR4Health outcomes will inform the European Commission’s transversal strategy on the management of datasets generated with publically funded research initiatives.

LeadArtis is a company developing bispecific tumor targeted antibodies based on its highly innovative protein engineering platform Trimerbody®. Trimerbodies provide several advantages over conventional monoclonal antibodies, such as simultaneous multiple targeting (up to six different targets per molecule), reduced size, higher avidity for targets, and a variety of effector possibilities (immune system activation, receptor blocking, delivery of toxins or cytokines). Trimerbody is a novel class of proprietary multivalent and multispecific therapeutic proteins based on specific antigen-binding domains and the unique structural and functional properties of naturally occurring collagen trimerization domains. LeadArtis’s proprietary platform allows rapid generation and production of novel biological therapeutics with potential in a wide range of human diseases. The technology was originally developed following the discovery that fully functional multivalent and multispecific antibodies could be generated by employing certain engineered collagen trimerization domains and target antigen binding domains consisting of conventional single-chain antibody fragments (scFv), single-domain antibodies or antibody mimetics. As a result, the recombinant Trimerbodies display enhanced antigen-binding capacity and are very stable. Trimerbodies, with their unique structural and functional properties, form the basis of a new generation of therapeutic molecules, which due to their small size and unique structure are ideal for the generation of novel biological drugs with multiple competitive advantages over other therapeutic molecules. LeadArtis development portfolio focusses on therapeutic areas such as immuno-oncology and inflammatory-autoimmune diseases.
