Quality Engineering & Management Group

The research group is part of the Department of Management and Production Engineering (DIGEP) of Politecnico di Torino. It deals with research areas related to Quality Engineering. Current research interests are in the areas of Statistical Process Control, Quality Management, Industrial Metrology and Robotics. This profile is created with the goal of promoting the research activities carried out by the Quality Engineering and Management Group. Quantum Leadership Activism

It is the vision of a brand new model of managerial action that develops from the encounter between the best disciplines of leadership with the discoveries of neuroscience and recent theories of quantum physics. In this perspective, managers can develop creativity, concentration, and other mental and aptitude faculties through practices aimed at awakening consciousness (meditation, practices of awareness and intentional activation), and companies can take on the great challenges of our era by combining growth with the improvement of human life and the conservation of the planet. It is linked to Quantum Activism, a paradigm founded in the USA by the physicist professor A. Goswami of the University of Oregon, and distributed in Italy by Professor G. Pagliaro through scientific events promoted by the European Quantum Activism Association.

Sanitary Environmental Engineering Division Seed

The laboratory of the Sanitary Environmental Engineering Division (SEED) is located at the University of Salerno. The laboratory, with an area of about 800 m2, is divided into distinct sections for educational and research activities. In detail SEED laboratory includes: Wastewater and drinking water area; Solid waste area; Toxicology room; Microbiological lab; Olfactometry laboratory; Offices and one meeting room. Laboratory is equipped with necessary instruments for detecting physical-chemical parameters on liquids, solids and gases (GC-MS, HPLC, TOC, ICP, Spectrophotometer, Dynamic Olfactometer, etc.). A full equipped mobile lab is also available for environmental monitoring in situ.

Smart-X

MSCA - ITN "SMART-X" Study of carrier transport in MAterials by time-Resolved specTroscopy with ultrashort soft X-ray light. Study Center Vasily Grossman

The Study Center Vasily Grossman is the only center in the world dedicated to the Russian author, and it is a point of reference for the research on the figure and the works of Vasily Grossman. The activities of the center range from the cultural diffusion to the research activities and the high-level distribution, with the purpose of increasing the awareness about one of the greatest novelists in history, whose works are invaluable world heritages and whose thought is fundamental for understanding our times. From 2005, the Study Center has organized an exhibition and two International Conferences about Grossman. In these years the Study Center has promoted the diffusion of the exhibition in several cities in Italy and around the world (New York, Washington, Moscow and other towns of the Russian Federation, Oxford, Jerusalem, Buenos Aires, Paris, etc) and has organized a number of meetings, seminars and lectures both in Italy and abroad. The Study Center has also an archival center, which would collect the entire documentary and bibliographical heritage of Vasily Grossman’s works. The portal dedicated "Grossman Digital Documentation Center" is available on the site: dc.grossmanweb.eu. The Center has also promoted the publication and translation of works about Grossman in Italy and Europe. The activities of the Study Center are focused on Vasily Grossman, but also promote a wider range of projects, open to the topics of the rights and freedoms in the XX century in relation to our present times. Osservatorio Di Pavia

L'Osservatorio di Pavia è un istituto di ricerca e di analisi della comunicazione, fondato nel 1994 dalla C.A.R.E.S, Cooperativa di analisi e rilevazione economiche e sociali. L'attività dell'Osservatorio di Pavia è lo studio della comunicazione veicolata sia dai mezzi tradizionali (stampa, radio e televisione), sia da quelli legati alla sviluppo delle nuove tecnologie (internet-social media). Sin dalle origini, l'Osservatorio di Pavia lavora in stretta collaborazione con l'Università degli Studi di Pavia, grazie al cui apporto scientifico ha messo a punto varie metodologie di rilevazione e analisi. Collabora da tempo con la RAI, per la quale svolge continuativamente sin dal 1994 l'attività di monitoraggio del pluralismo politico, i cui risultati vengono utilizzati dalla Commissione Parlamentare di Vigilanza RAI. Tra le ricerche svolte abitualmente dall'Osservatorio di Pavia per committenti sia pubblici che privati sono da segnalare i profili di immagine di istituzioni, soggetti individuali, brand e la rappresentazione di temi, eventi, situazioni di crisi. Ha collaborato, tra l'altro, con il Ministero degli Affari Esteri, l' OSCE/ODIHR, l'Unione Europea, il Council of Europe (COE), e l'Onu per monitoraggi elettorali internazionali Da tempo l'esperienza capitalizzata ha permesso all'Osservatorio di Pavia di svolgere percorsi formativi, indirizzati a istituzioni nazionali e internazionali, al sistema scolastico, alle università e alla formazione avanzata.

Alma Propulsion Laboratory

The propulsion laboratory at the University of Bologna is located within the Hangar building, aside of the Airport of Forlì in via Seganti 103. The lab is available for students and researchers, both for teaching and research activities. Within the lab, students can develop their works on the tasks assigned in class, or design and finalize the projects they designed to participate the student challenges they applied for. The lab offers also the possibility to do internships and thesis works connected with the research activities that are developed, mainly focused on three topics- Solid Rocket Booster design and modeling- Plasma thrusters and discharges simulation and modeling- Internal combustion engines and gas turbines testing and control.

To shed light on the bone metastatic process, B2B aims to develop a breakthrough technology that for the first time dissects the steps of spontaneous breast cancer metastasis to the bone and captures the 3D complexity of the process. The B2B device includes macro-size organoids from breast tumor and bone, assembled together with a macro-to-micro vascular network. This level of physiological complexity is required to capture the key elements of the metastatic process.
