The University of Udine was founded in 1978 as part of the reconstruction plan of Friuli after the earthquake in 1976. Its aim was to provide the Friulian community with an independent centre for advanced training in cultural and scientific studies. The University currently has 10 faculties in: Agriculture, Economics, Engineering, Law, Modern Languages, Educational Sciences, Humanities, Medicine and Surgery, Veterinary Medicine and Mathematical, Physical and Natural Sciences. Centro Studi E Ricerche Idos
IDOS Research and Study Centre was founded in 2004 and is specialized in socio-statistical analysis of migration phenomena, including migrants’ integration, at an international, national and local level. On the basis of such expertise, the Centre carries out many national and transnational projects concerning researches, service activities and capacity building, on account of and/or in collaboration with a large number of public and private organizations. The most illustrious IDOS’ research is the Statistical Dossier on Immigration (of which “IDOS” is the acronym), the annual report on migrations in Italy that has been issued for the longest time (the first edition was issued in 1991) and that every year is widespreadly disseminated all over the country. IDOS is constituted by a stable staff of researchers and a qualified network of representatives for every Italian Region and Autonomous Province. A large network of academics and scholars also collaborate on IDOS research work and its dissemination. Every year IDOS presents its own researches in an awareness-raising and dissemination campaign of more than 100 events, often co-organized with public and private organizations that share and support IDOS’ social and cultural mission. Among its main publications, IDOS also issues the Affari Sociali Internazionali magazine, the annual reports Osservatorio sulle Migrazioni a Roma e nel Lazio (Observatory of Migrations in Rome and Lazio), Rapporto Immigrazione e Imprenditoria (Immigration and Entrepreneurship Report), Rapporto sugli Indici di integrazione degli immigrati in Italia (Immigrants’ Integration Indexes Report) and many other thematical studies.

Il Consorzio Futuro in Ricerca (CFR) è un’ organizzazione non-profit, a partecipazione pubblica e privata, i cui obiettivi principali sono la promozione, lo sviluppo e la valorizzazione delle risorse umane, scientifiche, tecnologiche ed economiche del territorio ferrarese. Nato nel 1993 come Consorzio Ferrara Ricerche, CFR ha assunto la nuova denominazione nel 2014 in considerazione della proiezione nazionale e internazionale della propria attività. Nell’ottica del miglioramento degli standard qualitativi del proprio sistema di gestione, il CFR ha acquisito la certificazione UNI EN ISO 9001:2008 – Sistemi di Gestione per la qualità. La missione del Consorzio è promuovere e sostenere la ricerca, l’innovazione e il trasferimento tecnologico, ponendosi come interlocutore privilegiato per Università, Centri di Ricerca, Enti Pubblici, Imprese Industriali, in Italia e all’estero, favorendo l’incontro tra i generatori di know-how, le organizzazioni industriali ed il mondo del lavoro. Distretto Tecnologico Sicilia Micro E Nano Sistemi
Il Distretto Tecnologico Sicilia Micro e Nano Sistemi rientra nei 25 distretti promossi dal Ministero dell'Istruzione, dell'Università e della Ricerca (MIUR) in collaborazione con le Regioni interessate, se condo quanto previsto dal Programma Nazionale di Ricerca 2005-2007. Al Distretto è assegnato dal MIUR il compito di agire quale “interfaccia nella filiera della conoscenza” e, dunque, di aggregare masse critiche, ammodernare infrastrutture e piattaforme tecnologiche e concentrare le risorse per obiettivi e progetti strategici, svolgendo attività di ricerca, di formazione specialistica, di marketing territoriale e di attrazione di investimenti. Il Distretto nasce da una proposta di costituzione da parte della Regione Sicilia, successivamente valutata dal MIUR sulla base della situazione di partenza del territorio, della fattibilità e potenzialità del progetto e della capacità di attrarre investimenti. Il 7 novembre 2003, il MIUR, la Regione Sicilia, le Università di Catania, Palermo e Messina, le amministrazioni comunali e provinciali delle tre città interessate firmano un protocollo preliminare d’intesa per la promozione del Distretto che copre le Province siciliane di Catania, Messina, Ragusa, Palermo. Il 14 giugno 2005, la Regione Sicilia e il MIUR firmano il Programma Quadro definitivo. In seguito alla creazione di gruppi di lavoro ristretti per la definizione della Governance (ai sensi del D.M. 10 ottobre 2003 e e la messa a punto degli Statuti e dei Patti parasociali, giorno 1 agosto 2008 si giunge alla Costituzione del 'Distretto Tecnologico Sicilia Micro e Nano Sistemi s.c.a.r.l.'. Questa si propone, senza scopo di lucro, di promuovere attività di ricerca e sviluppo e alta formazione nel settore dei Micro e Nano sistemi. I soci sottoscrittori sono 28 e includono, oltre alla Regione Sicilia, i tre Atenei di Catania, Palermo e Messina, centri di ricerca e imprese del territorio.

IMAMOTER is a Public Research Institute of the Italian National Research Council (C.N.R.). Headquarters are locater at Cassana (FE) and a branch is located in Turin. The official birth of the Institute for agricultural and earthmoving machines (IMAMOTER) falls in 2002 but it receives the heritage of two previous Institutes: the Institute for earthmoving machines and off-road vehicles (CEMOTER) and the Institute for agricultural mechanization (IMA). The background story, in brief, is the following; 1) the CEMOTER Institute started (with a different name) in the mid sixties as a Center of the National Research Council located in the Polytechnic Institute of Torino, where it stayed until 1981 when it moved to Ferrara and became an independent Institute, with the partial support of external parties (among them the Municipality of Ferrara and the National Association of Earthmoving Machine Manufacturers, i.e. UNACOMA-COMAMOTER); 2) the IMA Institute started (with a different name) in the early fifties in Torino as an Institute of the National Research Council, with the cooperation of external parties (among them the Municipality of Torino, the University of Torino, and the FIAT company), and underwent successive development stages and expansions. In the late eighties the basic location of the Institute moved to the newly built Research Area of Torino.
