Elba- European Liquid Biopsies Academy
Liquid biopsies have been heralded as a game changer in cancer management, with blood tests offering a minimally invasive, safe, and sensitive alternative or complimentary approach for tissue biopsies. Blood represents a rich source of information through which solid cancers (and their subtypes) can be detected, identified and classified, and matched to a specific therapy. However, despite the potential of individual approaches, the promise of liquid biopsies has not yet materialised in the clinic. Widespread deployment requires creative next-generation researchers with an innovative mindset with access to a unique toolbox, including medical know-how, molecular diagnostics expertise (from health economics to regulatory), and statistical/bioinformatical proficiency. Currently, there are no comprehensive training programmes to address this need. To move the promising liquid biopsy technology out of its infancy, the research programme and educational curriculum of the European Liquid Biopsy Academy (ELBA) will cover the entire value chain of diagnostics development and integrate all required disciplines and sectors. ELBA will educate 15 Early Stage Researchers (ESRs) with the skills to circumvent the obstacles currently hampering effective development and commercialisation of liquid biopsy approaches. By creating a sustainable network to foster long-term multidisciplinary relationships and communication networks with various stakeholders we aim to accelerate clinical translation of these blood-based diagnostics. Most importantly, we have designed a well-balanced training programme to provide excellent career opportunities for the 15 ELBA ESRs. this includes training on state-of-the-art technologies and tools; bioinformatics, biostatistics and mathematical modelling; health economics and health technology assessment; diagnostic test development (including intellectual property and regulatory affairs); transferable skills (including leadership) and patient inclusion.

Illicit Trade Group
The Illicit Trade Group (ITG) is an interdisciplinary research environment formed by a group of researchers, professors, experts and students working at the University of Groningen, under Globalisation Studies Groningen (GSG). Our goal is to create a university-wide debate on topics related to illicit trade, by creating the conditions for academic cross-fertilization in a research area that is fundamentally interdisciplinary. We host a Summer School and a Winter School on Illicit Trade in cooperation with UNICRI. Visit our website (https://illicittrade.org/education-overview) for more information. ITG Aims to- Contribute to a better understanding of illicit trade, the dark side of globalization - Create an environment in which students, researchers and practitioners can investigate the causes, challenges and solutions to illicit trade practices- Provide and facilitate the dissemination of research findings and evidence on illicit trade and related security issues- Foster a university-wide discussion on a broad range of themes that can feed directly the discussions on creating a sustainable global society and contributing to improved healthy ageing.

Koc Social Identities Lab
Koc Social Identities Lab was formed in 2018 at University of Groningen. Our aim is to bring together students working with Dr. Yasin Koc on their internships or bachelor and masters theses, and provide them a platform to think, discuss, and conduct research collaboratively. We are a dynamic group. As our members graduated and moved on with their academic careers, they continued to collaborate with us, and now we have members across the world. As a group, we aim to apply and extend the social identity approach to study disadvantaged groups focusing both on their engagement with social change processes and on their wellbeing.

Moralia Etc. Formally Groen Vuur
I am Moralia etc.(formerly Groen Vuur). As a master in applied ethics, a field of philosophy aimed at moral dilemmas in society, I love analysing ethical questions and create context and criteria to come to a good decision or policy. This varies in form from teaching and workshops to advice or writing essays. Besides ethics, I've also dedicated myself to the field of aesthetics and graphic design. Where philosophy holds high the importance of theory, analysis and argumentation, graphic design has lifted the skill of clear communication to an art. What they share is research and critical thinking. That's why, besides my various activities as an applied ethicist, I love my job as teacher in Research at Utrecht School of the Arts (HKU) and Writing + Thinking at the Sandberg Institute.
